Austin-Healey Club Hillclimb pics

I don't see a website for the A-H club, so I'll post the link here. The full-res. shots are, of course, quite a bit better.

Hey, there's the "SHOC Auto" 10th Anniversary RX-7.... NICE. V8 though, but I'm sure it's quick.

That 750 (Jalro?) is really cool! Does the car show up at other places? I'd like to see it in person.

That's a Jabro-SAAB. Rich must be planning it for vintage racing, although I don't know if he has had it out for that yet. It seems as if he has just gotten it and is going through some teething problems.

One thing that concerns him is that it is ungodly loud and he is unsure if he can quiet down the two-stroke without losing power. It had some (possibly-electrical) problems dying on the hill. I was the first guy there to push it at the end of one run, when it stopped maybe 30 feet short of the finish line.

Like a lot of vintage racers, it has a "useable first" which means that gearing is not good for the tight turns in Toms figure-eight.

My first time...

My first time in almost 3 1/2 years driving 'In Anger'
Well almost, 'cause I did drive Brian's S-10 at Rendezvou in '07 at the Grand Rapids MN HS parking lot.

This time with waaaay mo' power than my 'B'

I got sweaty palms again, and had to breathe deep. but did sleep OK the night before.
Man am I rusty!
Brian's car needs waaay more than 185 tires..............

And I got to the top of the hill without incident.
Some did not sadly.
Bruised and bent parts, badly damaged egos.....

Hillclimb

That was my first AH club hillclimb. Lots of fun! I will be back next year. It's too bad about that wreck but at least everyone is ok.
Thank you guys for posting the photos. Thanks for the ride in the V6 MG Dwight!
