    Cameras, Cameras, Cameras

Long story short, I need to get a car mounted camera to see what Im doing and to play back between runs to get a better understanding of the corse and what I need to correct/work on in my mind for my next run.

What are all you you guys using?

Idealy I would like something where I could see my self so I can see where I was looking and what I was doing with the wheel. Not to many options to stick something behind me in my 08 STI so any suggestions would be nice.

    Thanks.

I made something sort of like this:

and I've seen others using something similar.
You don't really need to tie the bar to both headrests - just one seems to be fine.
I even made mine out of wood and there was no noticeable vibration.

That's assuming your car has the right kind of headrest on the seat.

We use a panavise suction mount with a cheapo WalMart digital camera (sorry Josh). You can even mount on your roof or suction to a window (inner or outer). We also have an ebay bullet cam with a little recorder. Borders on PITA, though.

A narrower camera on your helmet will tell you if you have been looking ahead.

I agree that a gopro wide-angle will allow you to critique your hand movements.

The gopro does not seem to resolve cones until they are pretty close, at least on the videos I have seen.

That might work on the rear headrests. I wonder if the angle would be good enough to see the wheel.

Ill let tammy know of the cr comment :-)

I think a suction cup thing would work best. That way I could move it around if i like and trasfer to other cars easier.

You saw us running the gopro hero wide angle on the GTI, mounted just ahead of my moonroof, and today we used my cruise cam inside with the GoPro on the roof still. After seeing video of both, the go pro on the roof gives a MUCH better video to analyze from than the "cockpit" recorder.

Kinda wish I hadn't bought it and gotten the GoPro..
