I've been there for the last many years, and try to organize a dawn patrol of guys to meet and rumble in as a group, then we try to take over the grove of trees across the street from the motorbooks building as MAC land, putting our cars w/numbers on display. I'm sure I'll post more on this as the date gets closer, but for now, get up early and join the crew! The event fills every yr, and there ends up being as many cool cars in the general/overflow parking as in the show, so if you want to support MAC and be in the show, you gotta get up a little earlier.

Great show I have gone the last 3 years and just walked around. About 4 years ago I put my car in the show. I am planning on bring my car up there this year again for it. Most varity I have ever seen at a car show any were. It was fun last year when I think about 6 or 7 Ferraris pulled in together.

Definitely keep me up to date on the dawn patrol. I did this last year. Had a blast driving up together, having coffee in stillwater, and enjoying the early morning foggy drive to the show. And then had a blast all day hanging out with the group at the show. Fun times for sure, and I will be there with numbers on :)

I have never been and I know a lot of people talked about it last year. Count me in for the early morning ride.

I'm going stag this year, as every other year Sue goes to the giant craft show in Little Falls instead of the smaller one in Osceola.
Note to folks with spouses interested in craft shows and the like:
There is a bus which circulates from Motorbooks to airport to downtown to Motobooks so you can park your car at Motorbooks and the less-car-crazy spouse can take a bus downtown to the arts/crafts stuff. I never do, of course, but Sue does on the years she comes to the show with me.

A long time ago in a car show far away, there was a huge MAC banner we hung in the trees that I/we try to claim each year. I think this was back 5-6 yrs, in the Dwight days. With all the packing/unpacking/organizing/dis-organizing we have done of late with trucks/trailers, anyone seen that banner? It'd be nice to have to mark our turf, rather than depending on british and a certain german car to drip drip drip it for us. If the banner is MIA, anyone with a hook up to make us a new one? Maybe 2-3' tall, 5-6' long, strings or grommets at the corners so we can attach it? Possibly we could hang it on the truck at events as well. Maybe something that says: "MAC- Minnesota AutoSports Club", sports our logo on either end, and has the web site address below the words in a smaller font. Just pitching ideas here, there are members far more creative than I who are better suited to come up with the design.

Bring your numbers. The first year we did this, 2004, I showed up in the TR4 and instead of parking with the Minnesota Triumphs club, I parked with MAC. I put autocross numbers on the 4. I looked around and saw that none of the other MACers had numbers! I was incredulous. If you are going to show up as an autocross club, your cars need to look like autocross cars. I had thought that would have been pretty obvious, but I guess not.

So are we going to do the meet in Stillwater again in the early morning? Last year we all met up at the starbucks, had a coffee, put our numbers on and drove on from there. Worked out nice I thought. Great drive to Stillwater early in the AM always makes for a good start to the day IMO

Apparently the banner is MIA. Anyone got a hookup on a replacement?

my dad wouldn't have the banner, would he?
Holy crap! Not many days left! I'll be out there parked with the eurowerks.org club :-)

We thought he may be the culprit, but turns out it was burried in a box in the new and improved MAC truck. It has been found, is in my possession, and will be brought to W/W to be placed in the little grove of trees we have tried to call home for the past few seasons at the show. I'll start a "dawn patrol" thread to get the troops organized for the early morning trek to the show, and to try to get our "usual" spot.

... as we know it. Word is Motorbooks is moving, and although Osceola will continue a festival of sorts, the vehicle show will not be anything we come to know and love. I know Cars & Coffee (at it's new - further west location) is the same day, but this may be the last of it's kind gathering. Pray for good weather and spread the word.

If this be true, and I have no reason to doubt it, myself and the dawn patrol better forgo that cup of coffee on the way, bring a thermos of the JoeJuice, and get there when the gates open to secure our spot!

My name will be on the dawn patrol as soon as you post it up :)

Gah! I need coffee!!!! We could maybe send off the dawn patrol to secure the grassy paddock and leave a couple of cars behind to pick up bagels and one of those boxes of coffee. I actually have a useable trunk and I hear exhaust-flavored coffee is all the rage in Europe....

BTW - this is reportedly the LAST Wheels & Wings...
This would be a huge shame. Hopefully the community will find a way to pull it off and keep it going.
This is one of my favorite car shows (and not just because I used to organize it about 20 years ago). The incredible variety of things with motors and wheels is incredible. Plus a great drive up and free to boot.
Hopefully someone will pick up the ball.
