Well, I think I'm out of SI now, so I have to decide on a class.. I suppose its mostly a moot point, as the classes will all get grouped up to BM (?), but I could either compete in SM2 or DM (according to SCCA, as far as I can deduce).

Neither of these classes are used by MAC, right?

SM2 has the better PAX.

What'cha all think?

Put on race tires and compete in CS. A driver competing in a Stock class will usually get you a better indication of his driving ability without having to worry about maximizing his car's potential. About the only other thing that will need to make the car C-stock competitive is a set of stiff aftermarket shocks, particularly the rear ones.

Ed,
You are still elligible to run in Si since you came in second at MOWOG IV.

If you're serious about autocrossing, I'd suggest pulling the supercharger and running in C Stock. It's a competitive class. If you choose C Stock, it means restoring the engine to factory standard, including the air filter and air box. Sticky tires for your car are reasonably inexpensive.(You could probably get away with running Falken Azzenzis and being pretty competitve against Kumho's)

Street Mod, as I read the rules doesn't allow for your car with the supercharger. Street mod is for 4-seat cars (Para 8.7.1). Street Sports Car doesn't allow for forced induction, so if you kept the supercharger, you would be in D Mod. Reality is that because of bumping, you would be competing for tropies against B Mod.

You can run a cone filter and play in BSP which is a fun and competitive class. Street Sports Car 1 is also an option.

Hope this gives you some insight.

There aren't many (any?) people running CS at the Mowogs. We're all running CST. I'd be happy to see another Miata out there to compete with.
