I have talked to Pro Kart-Blaine and they are willing to let us setup a 6 week race season
with races held every other Sunday at noon.

The format is:

-4 minute warmup qualify session
-17 minute race
-switch carts
-17 minute race

Dates will be finalized when we get enough drivers.

We need 12 drivers and the enter fee is $173.

Please email me with your name and phone number if interested.

Correct me if i'm wrong about the following assumptions:

Price?
6 races / $173 = $28.83 per Sunday is a fair price!

Substitutions?
Are substitutions allowed? I will be unavailable most of December, so can I sell a couple of races to someone else? We could create a sticky thread on the messageboard where members could buy and sell races.

Unfortunately, this is the going rate for a ProKart league.
Normally it is $25 to join and then $28 a week. That will come to a total of $193 dollars.
The allow you to pay it all at once and that fee is $173. They want us to all pay up front either to help out there books or because they think it is a hassle to do the every other week format.

Once we get our list with contact numbers I will talk to them about getting a little better rate. It will be easier to negotiate with the numbers in front of them. I can always play the Thunder Alley card if I have too.

I'm going to shoot for $150 which would be $1800 for them vs $2076.

As for subs?

I will contact ProKart and give you an answer regarding this.

Thanks

7 spots filled, 5 open.

I'm going to talk to Prokart about having only one event in December since it is already a very busy time. I will let you all know.

That would be cool.

I got confirmation on the Subs. And they do allow that, but don't collect the $28 dollars for you.

We are up to 10 out of 12.

I will be emailing everyone tonight I have on my list.

Question: Does ProKart let you use your own helmet? If so, what are the helmet requirements?

Thx!

-Steve
(only 6.5hp? I REALLY need to lose some weight! :p )

You can use your own helmet.

It needs to be closed face or you must have safety glasses.

I can't help you on the weight, but we might have to make a PAX
for it. :)

Maybe we should do "weigh ins" like jockeys, and add lead ballast to the scrawny runts go-carts :D

They let me use my open-face Snell helmet with a flat shield.

About helmets.

I know they won't like my helmet as I don't have a face shield.....and I don't have access to one.

So I assume they provide helmets as well and should I expect to pay to use one?

thanks for the info...See you all there.

Flat shields are available at motorcycle-supply stores for about 7 bucks. And they are overpriced.

Yes, there are "house" helmets. At an event full of autocrossers with their own helmets, you will have a better chance of snagging one that fits you than at other events where fewer people bring their own. As I recall, the helmet use is free, but they may ask you to pay for a head sock to keep down the lice.

I've been to the Burnsville Pro Kart about 3 times.. The first day I was there I guess I broke a record for the week's Leaguer's? I was ecstatic. :)

I'd love to be part of the League but I can't get up that far every weekend. :( :( :(

The league is finished. I more then likely will arrange another one next year. Keep
checking here for more info.

Here is the results of the top 3 for anyone that cares:
1. Mike Skillingstad
2. Dave Morton/John Boos
3. Randy Williams

And the unoffical most improved driver is Alex Lowe.
