They were filling pretty fast, though. In 3 days there were just about 100 entries in each. I didn't know entries were open and got in last Saturday, kinda got scared that I had missed it.

Yep, mum and dad are in town a week early, and since I'm planning to attend the T&S class at the Novice School, they'd probably take a dim view of me spending all four weekend days of their visit autoxing.

Wow, how quickly plans change. With no announcement yet for a T&S class, I've decided instead to sign up for M2 as well as M1. I felt bad letting The Posse down.

The autocross bug got him.(hehe) I too am waiting on wheels they should be here tomorrow.(and hopefully Dwight will take care of tires sat afternoon). I hope it warms up so I can get decent test done before mowog 1. The Bf-Goodrich kdws's are good but I will not replace them. I will go for some KD's when they are done.

Just got in tonight, forgot all about it. Dave had to remind my dad to tell me to sign up, otherwise I woulda missed it!!

Is there an option this year for MAC member sign up? I think it was like that last year was'nt it? An extra 10-5$ off each event?

I can't stop somebody else from taking it. And moving hassle away from event day is the reason we HAVE permanent numbers.

So please US mail or paypal me and get this settled now, before the events start up.

I'm not picking on you personally. I have the same message for all the folks dragging their feet on this. ;)

Let's get that WRX moved into the right class.

G. Jay

I'm in for both. I need pix and results to send to Mazda Racing to cement my membership. Luckily I don't have to win to stay in the program. STS2 is popular this year though I'm a bit sorry to see Mark to Pro. Well I guess that just means more trophies for the rest of us.

Two questions.

How did M2 get to 161 on a 160 limit?

Also I see that Pat Washburn is shown with a #1 but the numbers update says #1 is MAC. Is Pat really running #1? If so I think it is a great perk for the #1 driver.

Yes. Number 1 was given by Met Council to MAC. MAC traditionally allowed the MAC Driver Of The Year to use it. When Randy was the MACDOTY, he declined the privilege.

That only happened for a while, until a very on-the-ball EM effectively made the morning into a two run practice session in the hopes that the afternoon would be better. It was a bold plan that worked out, and the afternoon heats ran much better.

I remember a teensy bit of snow at M1 three years ago, although I was only a spectator then.

We were staying in the condo's at the track. I was watching Evolution drive their 911's around the track from the warmth of my room.

I had tons of fun today! Its great to be back behind the wheel again after a long winter. Although I miss the familar faces of my old region, I had a great time meeting new faces, and thanks to everyone who help me with my noob-to-the-area questions.

AS was a great battle today, constantly jockeying for position. I met alot of people, so sorry for forgetting your name, but great last run to the guy in the silver Boxster.

I cant wait for my front sway to get in to help plant the rear of my car! It was quite a battle to keep the nose in front all day. Im sure I could also benifit from better tires as the AVONs im on seem to be mediocre at best (as I've been told they would). Oh well, they were free :p

And congrats to Kevin(?) in the viper for the class win! nice chatting with you.

LOL, yea. My day did'nt start out the greatest either. First run, the battery was dead and was forced to jump it(first time I've had to do that...LOL).
Then I was having problems with the seat adjustment and making a cool smoke show...lol

Then my numbers fell off, so I got sick of them falling off, and had to rely on temp painter tape numbers.

But after I got the 'lighter' numbers, the car really picked up acouple seconds! hehe

Again...I've got the quantity down. Once I can take the gloves off I'll work on quality. Some of them happened to turn out alright. Once I left the my spotter by trailer area for another spotter farther down the course. I didn't think the spotter would be the breaking point. I have to choose more wisely next time.

Huh-ya baby, that was a good day of autocrossing.

My morning runs were kind of dismal. First run was actually pretty decent, in the 64sec range with a cone...but the whole time I was like 'HOLY CRAP, POWER!!!!!!:rockon :rockon :rockon '. Second run I tried using my car's switchable rear diff lock set to 'locked', which resulted in great success in the couple of corners I tried it on (could put down the power a lot easier), but basically didn't allow the car to turn in on the big first lefthander. DNF. Third run was another 64sec run, ok I suppose. Also, after the first run, the car had lots of lifter tick, which it's only done on the street when low (I installed a nice OEM baffled pan to combat this). So I added a half quart of oil or so. Well, I now assume that it was just hard 1st/2nd gear acceleration, because it burped that half quart of oil right into the catchcan, which filled up rapidly, and spewed out the vent, leaving a nice slick on my grid spot:rolleyes: .

Afternoon got zany. After I plowed out on my second run I decided to see what they were at, all four tires were around 36psi...a little low. So I bumped them up to around what I used to run, 42-44. This made the back of the car *real* happy. 4th run, in the first righthand carousel, back of the car steps out midcorner. I was near the end of the corner, so I said 'hell with it', and matted the gas to a big smokey front wheel burnout. Next run I think I did something similar, but in the sharp lefthand before the finish line, the car again stepped out, but this time at higher speed and with great angle. Hell with it again!:burnout:. The second one should've been fairly impressive, I hope someone got it on tape or camera. I was certainly grinning.

Last run I talked to Steve Vann, he said he ran his 90 with a little less air pressure in the rear. I gave that a shot, dropping the rears to 38psi. Car was much more stable, ran off a mid 63 IIRC...so, colored me happy. 4th in Steet Mod I think, on 205/45r16 Kumho SPTs:D.

Should be shortly... Due to the timing troubles on Sunday, Steve G. is taking a little extra time with a final audit of the results and will be posting them on the forum, probably later tonight.

Are you talking about your fastest run that was negated buy timer error? Where they thought a bunch of people were 1.5 seconds faster then they were. Then were reran.
No, it was not my fastest recorded time. It was a reasonable, believable time (a tick slower than my fastest) on the display box. The thing about the run is that it was actually clean...

There was some problem in the timer that I can't explain (no big surprise there), so I won't belabor it here. The computer professionals in the club are assuring me that they have a handle on it for future events.
