Paul’s family has asked that a memorial fund be created, to benefit autosports in a manner befitting Paul’s love for cars – and more importantly, the people driving them. While details have yet to be finalized, we anticipate the following uses for this fund:
Paul Weidner “Spirit of the Sport” Award. This will be an annual trophy, presented to the Minnesota Autosports Club (MAC) member who best embodies the helpful, caring spirit Paul regularly displayed to all the club members whose lives he touched.
Paul Weidner Scholarship Fund. Paul took a great interest in new drivers, and was often the first person to befriend someone at their first MAC event. We plan to use this memorial fund to offer Novice School scholarships to first-time autocrossers, and/or provide similar driver training for youth drivers.Your contributions to this fund in remembrance of Paul are welcomed, and will be put to good use. Please forward donations to:
Dave Kral
Minnesota Autosports Club
5828 W. Meadow Lake Rd.
New Hope, MN 55428
Checks should be made out to Minnesota Autosports Club, with a note indicating the money should be placed in the Paul Weidner Memorial Fund.
Sincerely,
Steve Garnjobst
