What the heck. Is there not an SCCA event in La Crosse this weekend? If there is-- how come no thread? I don't know, maybe I missed some big cancellation announcement while my car has been in the shop-- but I've been looking forward to this event and I thought some of you would be talking about it... or maybe I just didn't see it (it has been a long week).

Anyway, my car should be out by tomorrow. WOOHOO!!!:dancin:
I'm ready to drive again and I'm sayin' goodbyeto metro transit.

So if there still is an event in La Crosse-- is anyone going???

Yep, there's still an event on the 21st. Here's the event flyer:

I'm hoping to make it to the event, but haven't gotten the OK from the family yet.

Very tempted to go, but two reasons why I won't. One MAC on the 28th and DMVR the next weekend are enough as the wife probably wouldn't stand for three weekends in a row. The 'Big Reason' though is that I have a new car and don't want to do my first auto-x in it at a track with walls. Yes, after 10 years with the CRX, I have finally upgraded. The "new" ride is sweet. A '99 Miata Sport with AC delete. It also does have power steering, but does not have ABS. This is exactly the setup I was looking for. Its bone stock minus plugs and plug wires, has a new set of S-03's on it, and only has 52,000 miles on the clock. I paid $9700 for it from a nice family near Houlton, Wisconsin. It is a fairly rare color (some darkish blue). It is an absolute blast to drive and I enjoy it being a convertible more than I anticipated. The only downside is that all the other cars I own now feel like mid-70's sedans by comparison. I used to think that our Beetle was a decent handling car; that is before I nearly put it in the ditch last night. I can't wait to get the Miata on an Auto-X course!

The LaCrosse event is a blast though so do attend. The beer steins for tophies are also great.

Anybody looking for a tough CRX?

Adam,

What a find - the car sounds PERFECT! I'm probably gonna have to stand in line to get a co-drive now!:p

Very nice. I wish I found that before I got the R package. I guess I'll have to learn how to drive faster now. http://www.stopstart.freeserve.co.uk/smilie/burnout.gif

It's great, isn't it? Compared to the R package, even my dad's S2000 feels a bit on the soft side. :oneeye:

Hey Adam!
Last time I talked to you it was "Oh Spyder, my Spyder" and now it's a 99 Sport. I see you've seen the light or at least the results from nationals. I also see that I'm going to have to get really serious about the sport package upgrade I've been considering. My open diff just isn't going to hack it any more. It'll be fun trying to keep up with you anyway.

Chuck, are you listening? That disembodied voice you've been hearing is CS calling to you....

Daryl, you might be hearing that voice too...

Yes, convertible roadsters, what ever their make/model, rock. There isn't much that I enjoy more than cruising with the top down on a winding, wooded road in the middle of autumn.

forget it, just forget it.

I'm never going to drive again. While finally driving the ITR away from the body shop after 5 weeks, the crankshaft pully bolt broke off my engine and I drove over it.

WHAT THE HECK!!!!!

So I guess I won't be at La Crosse after all.

Does anyone know why or how this could possibly happen?:bawling:

You will be the FIRST to get a codrive as I owe you bigtime for my backing out of Nationals at the last second. Will you be too busy this coming Sunday?

I think I can find the time... it helps when you're the one making up the run groups!;)

p.s. We'll dial the Rex in for maximum rotation and have some fun sliding around Midway! :D
