I thought it might be a good time to start a "where to stay" thread for Nationals. So far, off the top of my head, we probably have the following people going to Topeka in September:

Running Tuesday/Wednesday
Ivan Austin - staying on site
Gretchen Austin - staying on site
Chris Bienert
Tyler Bennett
Harry Aro - Senate Luxury Suites
Steve Jones - Senate Luxury Suites

Running Thursday/Friday
Neal Tovsen - EconoLodge: Sat thru Sat
Katie Lacey - EconoLodge: Sat thru Sat
Darryl Wrolson - EconoLodge: Sat thru Sat
Josh Karsten
Larry Bereuter
Dave Bahl - Has a room booked: Tu, W, Th, possibly Fri
Chris DeLay - Room w/ DaveBahl Tu; Clubhouse Inn: W, Th, Fri
Adam Ansorge - Clubhouse Inn: W, Th, Fri
Matt Murphy - Clubhouse Inn: W, Th, Fri
Pat Washburn - Clubhouse Inn (?): Tu, W, Th, Fri
Chris Deutsch - Clubhouse Inn (?): Tu, W, Th, Fri
Steve Garnjobst - Room w/DaveBahl Tue-Thu, also staying Fri
Keith Beumer - staying on site
Dan Moulin - staying on site
John Mensch

If you're going, and you're not on the list, please let me know. Please do the same if you're on the list and you're NOT going. I figure if we post here, we can get the maximum number of people booked in the minimum number of hotel rooms.

I'm going. I believe Matt & Nikki also expressed interest last year, not sure if those lame-o's are gonna follow through.

(srsly, leaving an autox to watch someone else play sports???)

I don't think I'll be able to make it. I only have 2 and a half days of vacation left after my bout with mono. With registration closing at 4:30 and tech closing at 4 on Wednesday, there is no way I can make it work. :(

Taking a week of unpaid vacation didn't sit well with my pocket book. I couldn't justify the sacrifice enough this year. Maybe next year.

It's great to see that Matt is still going though!

Unpaid vacation certainly does suck. :(

I got a room at the Candlelight Inn, nonsmoking, Tuesday -Thursday night... it's right next to 470 & Fairlawn Road (2831) if you'd care to Mapquest it. Let me know, it's cheap. The dates can be changed up to a day before checking in.

Dave,

I 'll take a space. Cheap is good, and it's right in the same area I usually stay. Can you get the reservation extended for one additional night? I want to stay for the banquet on Friday night, and will just pick up the additional night myself, unless we find another roommate.

p.s. I actually registered for the event today. It looks like there should be at least 20 drivers in XP. :rockon

Shouldn't be a problem, I think I'm just gonna head out after the event, "UNLESS" I have to go to the banquet. ; ) HA!!! Just hope I can do better than last year.

It's official, I'm leaving the street tires at home and heading down the sticky R-comp road.

Let's see, a 90% prepped (*cough*) underdog car on 2.5 year old set of Advans or a fully prepped car on fresh Hoosiers. Yeah, tough one.

I'm in. Chris, you can move me to Thur/Fri, I'll be driving the E.B.S. (Thanx Steve!).

I'll be looking for some cheap (er I mean inexpensive) space, not sure what days I'll be there (or even HOW I'm getting there), but I'll have an air-bed, and would only need some floor space.

John,

Depending on how much time you can get off from work, you can ride down with me. The Titan is pretty comfy to travel in. :) I plan to drive down some time Tuesday afternoon, and come back Saturday morning.

If you speak up soon, you should be able to stay with Dave B. and I (as long as you furnish your own airbed). Tuesday could be a little interesting, as Chris is staying in the room, but we could probably make it work for one night.

I can vouch for the Clubhouse. I stayed there two nights earlier this year when I was bringing the M3 back from San Diego.

They serve a great breakfast (not sure how early it's ready) and you can drink at the bar for free (they have both types of beer- bud and bud light). The price was great too.

Thanks...I was going ot book online, but they charge your card immediately for the whole stay. No freakin' way. The SCCA site also does not list any phone numbers. Odd. We'll probably book there since Alex rated it so highly.

Hey, what happened to Capitol Plaza? SCCA's site gives it a one star rating, and it's not listed as the "Official" hotel of the SCCA. Someone had a falling out? No special rates that I can see. One star? It's a nice place.

I was just on the phone with Greg Piper from Texas and he is assisting Phil Osbourne with paddock. Does anyone have any preferences as to where we are going to paddock? Who from MN will be on site first? He is going to get some spaces for the Texas people up top by the motorhome area, does that sound decent for everyone? It looks like we will have 7 drivers on Tues/Weds and 15 drivers Thurs/Fri so how much room are we going to need? Everyone let me know what you think is good and I will talk to him to get something set up.

O yeah, good thinking. The number has shifted slightly, now it's 6/16. Four cars, six drivers on Tue/Wed... and eight cars, sixteen drivers on Thu/Fri. I'm not sure how much room, hopefully someone with more experience with this type of stuff can help out here..

Chris and I are just booking, and could use probably a roomie. We are getting a two room deal with a bed in one and pull out couch in another. I would think there would be room on the floor somewhere. We're there from Tue through Fri nights. (Assuming it's OK with Chris of course.)

I just spoke with our paddock connection Greg Piper and he is going to save 6- 1 1/2 car wide spots that will go asphalt to asphalt which means our spot should be around 70x80 or so. so first person there please look him up at the paddock trailer. I will also pm his cell# to Ivan and Pat W. as I think they will be getting there first on Saturday evening. If anyone thinks they will be there earlier let me know and I will get you his # also.

Those arriving early - make sure you spread out and lay claim to all of the 6 spaces, as we have a lot of cars to fit in the space Tues/Wed. I'm already guessing we may need to put a few of the trailers in the "trailer paddock" - wherever that is.
