There will be a small carevan of cars leaving at 7am from the Fuddruckers located on the Southwest corner of I94 and Weaver Lake Rd in Maple Grove.

I am interested in attending the event, and was wondering if you have to have some kind of certification to run on the full course? I have never run in a non-autocross environment yet. Also any kind of other information you could give would be helpful.

the way it works is:

-show up
-register
-empty car
-line up for tech inspection
-if you have never been to an aarrf event is that a person who has a "yellow license" will take your car w/ u in the passenger seat around the track for 2 laps, to see if your car is safe and to show you the suggested "line' as well as familarize you w/ the coarse. then you two yellow pieces of tape are put on your bumber to signify that you are new to aarrf. then you are good to go. People are organized via run groups, those run groups are usually determined by drivers expirence and type of car. For instance a person driving a stock civic for the 1st time will not be put in w/ an SCCA prepped blown mustang w/ r compounds. though out the day there maybe changes in the run group. for instance if you are in the beginners group and you end up lapping every one you will be bumped up.

Richard, if all goes right I will be up there on Sunday. Unfortunately, I am not bringing the STi with, rather the RS (this is why I kept it anyway). I have my yellow license so I can take you on the initial laps if you would like (and being a fellow STi driver, you can trust me!) I will be in the BRP '00 RS, #202. Hope to see you there.

I think I'm going to try to show up, should be fun, and I get to test out my New STi. Though it seems the AARRF site is down at the moment, so I can't pre-register.

Oh, and can you take passengers along for the ride?
