Would those who plan to attend this meeting care to summarize here for those of us who cannot? I'm very interested to know about the fate of BIR, but will not be able to attend this meeting. Thanks.

Jed Copham was there and gave an update of the work that's in progress and what's planned. He contracted a track designer/consultant from Colorado to make recommendations. Currently they are working on increasing the run-off area at Turn 2. Jed has purchased 10,000 feet of "Jersey" barrier which will be installed. He's doing some preliminary 'dozer work to give the corner worker stations more protection. He wants to build a return road for the drag racers and build a cut-off road from an area between Turns 8 and 9 back to the front straight (past the pit exit) so that he can run drags and road course events at the same time. He wants to start working on recertification by various sanctioning organizations next year. He also wants to expand the asphalt parking area near the condo so it can be used as a driver ed/skid pad/autocross area.

I know, talk is cheap, but he has already put some fairly significant $$ into the place. He says relations are very good with the Baxter and Brainerd city councils and Chamber of Commerce. Even with the problems the site has had in the past, Jed said every weekend was filled this year and he expects to fill 2007 as well.
