OK, I'll start off the coordination for Nat's. I want to get this because of the way paddock spaces are being let out. We can coordinate and maybe get some spots together. Plus it's nice to know when people are going to be there and where.

If your going, please reply with your travel plans. Inlcude run heat and days, when your leaving, who are you travelling with, how you getting there and do you have any space, when you will arrive at the site for your paddock spot, when your leaving, where you are staying, and contact number.

If you are not going, please do not reply. Thanks!

I'll start:

Pat Washburn - Run 4th heat Tuesday and Wednesay (SM)
Leaving Friday 9/22 around 5 PM
Riding with Neal and Katie
Pulling the car trailer with their truck - Low on space!
Arrive on site Saturday mid-morning.
Going home Thursday, but may decide to stay.
Sharing a room with Neal and Katie on Wannamaker....can't remembr name.

I copied this from RW thread from a few weeks back… Not sure this helps but it does give you an idea of how many spots to reserve… If each of you who are arriving early reserve a spot for us coming later we should be more then covered…

So with the drop out of Josh, looks like 18 going this year! Not to make a big deal about this all, here's what I think will happen:

The thing about saving spots is you can't decide which spots....they are assigned and you are escorted to your spot. That means you can't reserve a common block for everyone unless you all show up near the same time.

Looks like Neal, Katie, and I will be there first. We will try to save a spot each. Who knows how it works...do Neal Katie and I get a spot each, or are they going to make us all share one paddock spot??? Don't know. (If I could find another car to drive in with, I could get another spot for me) We'll save spots for 1 person each. It could be as little as 4 total spots, or as many as 6. We'll see about what is available for electric spots Steve M....if they require everyone to get one because they are all together, then your probabaly on your own.

The thing is, once this initial round of saving is done, HPT will continue to fill spots around us with other people. We won't get any additional spots together. For instance, we save a spot for Steve G. He shows up in the afternoon, and saves a spot. That saved spot will not likely be near his spot. Not the end of the world, but I think this is how it will work. We can still make one area the "hangout" since Neal will be snagging the tent for cover.

Anyway, not to make this all too complicated...just wanted to have a plan to maximize the fun!

I'm going public with this because it involves all of the Nationals-bound folks.

Some of us on the Board would feel more comfortable with you all taking the club canopy if we had some confidence that you all would chip it to replace it if it got destroyed down there. We are not talking a huge amount of money, maybe 200 bucks. It's not fair to make Neal commit to this himself since you all will benefit from a place out of the sun/rain. Kansas in September can bring anything from 100 degrees to freezing rain.

Most likely, it will come back in the same condition in which it left, but there is precedent for the prairie winds raising havok with these things.

Since it seems like we have enough people willing to chip in a few $ if something goes wrong with the tent, I'll swing by and pick it up tomorrow. I think I can rearrange my stuff to accomodate the extra cargo. If it does end up being sunny & 80 degrees in Topeka, a bit of shade will be welcome.

I'll be heading out Sunday noon-ish, I run in the 5th heat Tuesday/Wednesday heading back Thursday/Friday... pending the "cocktailing" Wednesday night. I haven't heard anything about MAC T-shirts... if we have a tent let's have T-shirts, even if "we" have to pay for them there. It'd be nice to have a picture of TEAM MAC!!! = )

Dan Moulin and I will be Leaving Sunday afternoon or evening and either arriving Sunday night or Monday morning. We run 5th group Tues/Weds and are working 3rd. We will be heading back on Thursday. We are going to camp there so if someone is trying to save some spots we need about 45 ft for the motorhome and trailer. Thanks

Larry Bereuter - Run 2nd heat Thursday and Friday (STS).
Leaving Tuesday 9/26 around 8 AM (tentatively).
Driving down with my crew (ie wife).
Arrive on site bright and early Wednesday morning.
Driving home Saturday.
Staying at the Holiday Inn Express (as are John and Kerry Mensch).
My wife's cell = 612-387-5711.

Hard to believe that by this time next week, I'll be fighting to stay out of DFL in STS at the Nationals...

(Hey! That *is* optimistic. I said, "fighting to stay out of", not "resigning myself to".)

+2 on that one. My heart always sinks a little when we ask where we should go for dinner and someone says "TGI Fridays." :(

Takin' off this afternoon. Don't even have the trailer hooked up yet, and the truck is already draggin' its behind. Three sets of tires, tools, spare parts, a week's worth of clothes, doggy gear...too much crap.

See all you sukkas there ASAP!

John, tell Kerri not to throw the bouquet so hard that it lands in Topeka, mmm-k? :D Best of luck, & sorry we couldn't make the ceremony!

Now you're just talkin' crazy talk. Justin Frank beat me in Milwaukee last weekend by 3.5 seconds. He was something like 17th last year at the Nats. (Obviously, I'm hoping he's national-champion material this year!) I doubt there will be a "daily driver" in the top 20 spots in STS.
