Just wondering if any clubs in the area are having a upcomeing dyno day? If they will let outsiders join in. A few of us are looking to get on the dyno before the snow falls.

There was a thread a while ago trying to drum up interest in one up at LSE, but nothing seems to have come of it. I'd like to do this, too, as I'm curious what difference the silencer in my exhaust makes.

are 2 wheel drive dynos cheaper on average per hour than 4wd ones? I'm curious because I seem to have seen some shops that offer lower dyno rates than I'm used to but they're non 4wd dynos.

I was going to suggest that, but didn't want to be too presumptuous.
On a completely unrelated note, I realised today that I have never actually driven a bone stock 2.5RS. Are there even any left out there ?

We should bring Jared out, too, with the Cobra. Is he back at work yet ?

He is back (as of yesterday around 11a), and I forgot just how low the ceiling is in the back seats of those things. If this works out, maybe we should hide our dyno numbers from each other until said challenge has been satisfied on Oct 15th?

I have been talking with Josh at LSE about some dyno time to dial in the 914. This would likely be on a friday mid-morning for a couple hours. When I get a date and time set, I'll post it here for anyone else who wants to book some pulls- maybe we can get a mac thing going once there is a specific date/time set up, rather than a bunch of "I'm interested but..."

OK, I'm up for this.
Does anyone know how these sessions work ? I'm going to have to bring my 3yr old along for the ride, and he's only going to find this entertaining for a while. Having an assigned time slot would be tremendously helpful. Also, do the car owners do the actual dyno runs, or do the shop staff do that ?
I'd like to hook up my laptop and get a log of the runs with ECUexplorer. It'd be interesting to see how the AFRs that shows compare to the AFRs from the shop equipment.

I called this morning and Josh told me that they are only doing subaru's or Evo's that day. he said if we could get 5 people we could dyno any weekend in Oct. If interested in doing it in Oct. Please post up. 3 pulls for $60. If we get 10 or more its $50 for 3 pulls.

I think josh is just doing the subarus and evos becuase there was enough interest from those two car clubs alone to fill an entire day, and it started out as a subaru club dyno day. I'm sure if there is room left over other cars can fit in, but t might be better jsut to do a separate day for other cars just so the schedule doesn't get crunched.

They should set up events on myautoevents.com. Set up different days for FWD, RWD, and AWD.

Just got off the phone with Josh...
They want to keep the 23rd restricted to AWD cars only... so the 23rd is out for anyone in a 2WD car. So... that counts me out. I've gone ahead and pulled my name off their list so that, at least, someone else can take my spot if they want it. Stu's still on it, but I'm not sure if he'll go to this one or choose to wait for a MAC day should we be able to get our collective behinds together and pull one off.
However, as David said, if MAC can get 5-10 people together, the same offer stands... $60 for 3 pulls for 5-10 cars and $50 for 3 pulls for 10+ cars.
So c'mon, MAC folks... I wanna dyno the Cobra! Let's get together and dyno, all right?

So it's either Oct 21 or 22 or Oct 28 or 29...
I think they prefer sundays so the crew from the dealership can swing by to check out the rides, but I don't think it matters. Josh said any weekend day in Oct.
Any preferences??? Any of the 4 days works fine for me.

OK, Jared has half talked me into giving up my spot at the MNSubaru day to support a MAC day instead. If we can set a date for it soon enough, I'm OK with doing that. So, Oct. 21/22/28/29 are all good for me right now.
Should we start a list going, like the one in the MNSubaru thread ? At least to get an idea of who is interested, and when they'd be able to go ? I'll even kick it off...
1. stoooo (AWD) - 21, 22, 28, 29
2. armchairdeity (RWD) - 21, 22, 28, 29
3. ???
Cut and paste the list into your reply, and add your name to the end. I think at this point, with us still hashing out a date, this list does not commit anyone to attending. We'll deal with that once we fix a date.

Alright guys I made it over here.
Originally it was open to MN subaru and an open format because I was worried they wouldn't get to 10 cars.
Now I am worried that we can't get all the awd cars done in 1 day, lol!
I try to cap at 15-20 cars. AWD cars I try to keep it to 15, but I will schedule 20 in. That makes for a LONG DAY on the dyno.
I am more than welcome to scheduling dyno days for 5+ cars, any configuration is welcome, I just tried to "cut down" on the cars on the mnsubaru day as there are a few scattered evo's that want to join, a ton of mnsubaru cars, and a wide variety of other cars.
Don't worry people, there is plenty of time to get anyone on the dyno that is interested.
How many cars do we have interested? If it is only going to be 5 or so, we can probably put you with the MN Subaru guys and call it done. My only concern is that a MN Subaru member can't dyno due to it being full.
Should we just put the MAC guys on the "alternative" list for MNSubaru day?
I've never attempted to try over 20 cars on a dyno day, it can just get long. I'll go all night if we have to, but it makes for a very long day.
Otherwise MAC can schedule a dyno day for themselves.
We perfer saturdays to sundays, but in the end numbers talk.
Thanks again for the interest!

I say the sooner the better...
Let's go with the 21st.
I knew we had at least 5 people around here to wanted this... and I'm glad Stu agreed to go with the MAC day because that put 3 people on the list automatically (me, Stooo, and Larry (hehe, gotta be there when the other Subie has it's pulls, eh Larry?)). Anyway, if we're all open on the 21st, let's just "get'er done" and go with that day.
If there's no complaints or discussions I think we can call it a plan.
Anyone dissent?
