Ok I have questions about two classes.

The first is a question about a 1.3 liter fuel injected mini cooper. It's a 1995 model, so outside of the range produced for sale in the USA. It is stock with the addition of an RC40 catback exhaust so its still ready for stock class, but I was wondering which stock class it goes into. Its a bit different frm the classic older minis in that it has the 1.3l fuel injected "S" motor (standard since the 90's, but was in the old mini S) as well as the AP calipers which also were "S" equipment that became standard on the cooper later on as well. It also has 12 inch wheels that were "S" equipment but became stock later on.

The other car is a 2001 Audi TT Quattro 1.8t 225hp turbo. Couldn't find a classing for it, but i could find the classing for the 1.8t 185hp turbo TT.

Here's what I got from the 2006 SCCA Solo rule book.

Cars running in Stock Category must have been series produced
with normal road touring equipment capable of being licensed for
normal road use in the United States, and normally sold and
delivered through the manufacturer’s retail sales outlets in the
United States. Car models not specifically listed in any Stock
Category class must have been produced, and must meet the above
requirements and been sold through normal U.S. dealerships, in
quantities of at least 1,000 in a 12- month period in order to be
eligible for the Stock Category.

and

D Stock (DS)
Acura
Integra Type R
Audi
S4 (‘00-’03)
TT (225hp, dual intercoolers)
TT 3.2 V6
TT (180 hp single intercooler)

Hope this helps.

The Mini is an AM car, the Audi is a DS car.

Couldn't he maybe bring that down to like DM instead of AM not that it would make much difference.:D

Nope. It does not meet the requirements of the first paragraph of Section 13, is not listed in Appendix A, and unless an obscure fasttrack exists somewhere out there, it is not otherwise recognized by the SEB, therefore it does not qualify as a modified production car and is ineligible in DM and EM.

huh, there are enough of them in the USA you'd think that someone would have put in a protest to the SEB to get it added to DM or EM. oh well, don't really care so much what class its in, the driver will most likely be in SI for a long time =]

If it were legal for stock its kind of interesting to think what category it would go in, i think it might be too fast for GS or HS, but who knows.
