Hot Rods Anyone? MSRA Back to the 50's!

So my favorite time of year is here once again . . . Back to the 50's Weekend -- June 23-25! Over 10,000 pre-1965 cars & trucks to oogle. If you're a car guy . . . consider this a MUST attend event. As usual I'll be there. All day Friday, until 11 on Saturday (damn weddings) and all day Sunday. Look for my car down there or call me once you're on the fairgrounds (PM me for phone #). I'll likely have a cooler full of frosty adult beverages and sodas.

My brothers, dad, and I are all goin Fri night. Best car show around. My dad use to have a teal/peach/white 57 Ford wagon that he entered in the show. Wish he still had it.

Sue and I will be there with the Triumph TR4. Ours is the white one with the small red stripes on the side. You are laughing, but at least one other should be there: John Meyers expects to have his pale-blue TR4 there.

We are considering going to the Thursday-night drive-in in the Saturn. Movies are "Cars" and the latest remake of "The Poseidon Adventure".

We should be at the fairgrounds with the 10-year-old grandson in the TR4 Friday and without him on Saturday.

Sunday, I'll be at Central Parking with the Miata.

Off course, my co-worker Larry will be at the fairgrounds with at least one of his Cadillacs. And Sue's erstwhile co-worker will probably have his midnight-blue VW Beetle roadster with the big-block stuffed into the front.

Are you going to the hotel to register on Thursday? Obviously I am, or they wouldn't let us into the drive-in without the buttons. ;)

I love this show and have always gone on saturday but unfortanatly I'm bussy sat. and sun. Is there a petty good car count on Friday as there is the rest of the weekend to make it worth it?

Unfortunately, it conflicts with the June Sprints. So many fun things to do, so little time.

Actually Friday is my favorite day of the show. Still tons of cars and fewer spectators. Saturday is the biggest day, but usually draws the most spectators as well.

The only guy for whom I as looking today that I did not find was my coworker the Caddy specialist. Several others appeared as if on cue.

We went back to the Back To The Fifties today. We were there for the morning rain, and skipped out about 4 and missed the late-afternoon rain.

It's OK, you can show the license plate. TR44SUE. Sue is proud of it. That's her doing some needlework. I'm off someplace with our grandson Adam.

I don't have any pics, but my favorite car of the show was a pristine 54 Buick Skylark Convertible. Gorgeous car.

Had a productive 4th.
Went to Jeff's and had the Saturn aligned.
Built a cedar trellis (Sue liked the one I put on the living-room window so much she wanted me to duplicate it on the dining-room window).
