There will be an alignment demonstration on Saturday 5/13 after the Novice Class . This is the 2nd Chance Novice School w/e & Pat will have a session at my house/garage after the classroom session is done.
Starts at 2:30, it'll be over when it's over, Bench racing at Eagles Nest/Broadway Pizza after that. I know this is short notice so please post below if you're interested so we know how many to plan for.
Thanks!
Paul
Address:
Detached garage, park in front & walk around back.
Easiest way is:
Go on Hwy 100 north of 394 (If you're into cars I figure you can get that far yourself!)
Exit and go east on 36th St (next exit after Golden Valley Road).
Turn Left onto Grimes (if you hit France/West Broadway/Hwy 81 you went TOO FAR)
Grimes "dumps" into Hubbard after one short block, go onto north Hubbard for ~ 1 block and you're there. Fire hydrant in front of house.

We will probably make it into a car movie night too. (After I get some 4 inch tall Corona's.) I have a DVD that no one else has...it's a collection of 9 home made video productions that were done for the SCCA Solo Nationals talent contest. These are very cool and funny videos about autocrossing made by Joe Geoke and Alan Dahl. Very fun to watch!!!
(Anyone have a disk doctor? It's getting kinda scratched up!)

I'll be there as well unless something serious comes up. I really need to learn this alignment stuff...my rear end needs to be lowered very badly.

You might want to rephrase that last sentence...

(Paul, or anyone, do you think lowering my rear suspension will affect my rear toe?)

I can't be there (I have to do this silly thing called graduating from college  ) But you guys can borrow my DVD copy of "Autocrossing in the fast lane". Has a lot of cool "vintage" autocross footage from the early 90's. Even has some shots of the yellow jackett in it's early development. Let me know so I can get it to you.

any change in ride height usually affects toe or camber or both
depending on the setup, i think on those hondas it doesnt change it much

Cool! Movie night is turning out to be an Autocross video night! I will try to bring some video's from my good old days in the old Neon...lots of cool in car shots. Can you get this DVD to Paul somehow? Or get it to Dunwoody on Sat am?

I was looking through my tapes last night. Ahhh...memories! I do have the 1997 Nationals trip that Dave and I got pulled over coming home from. (It's not as funny as legend has made it out to be...but what the hell.) I have lots of stuff from Tours, Pro's, National Championships, old MAC local stuff from 1990 at Canterbury Downs, some old COMMANGSAC stuff, old DCTC....way too much to watch. I also have the 9 semi-professionally produced videos from the Northwest Region set to some really cool music. Very fun to watch! Forget LeMans...we got movie night all sewed up with autocross crap!
Now Paul, about the size of those Corona's...
I will probably stop by as well.

I'd love to get all that old footage on video. I wonder if there's anyone in the club who could professionally edit those old videos, and perhaps make some sort of Compilation DVD? Pending Pat's approval of course. I'd be willing to drop some cash for something like that. DVD's would be ideal, seeing as how the quality of VHS tapes just continues to diminish over time.

You mean Joe's and Alan's stuff? Cool. Except the Beavis and Butthead one, which is so lame that you really want to turn the sound off.
I love the Pro Solo shot with the camera on one Miata pointed directly at the other Miata as they launch and go up the straight together.

I also have a CD of Top Gear episodes, given to me at Mowog 1/2, I'm spacing on the name of the guy that gave it to me (getting old...), among other things it has the Veyron, a test of the new MX-5 and a hillclimb with a Pug & a Sprite!
Paul
PS. Pat, what do you need bigger Coronas for, that six pack seemed to work OK, if it's not enough you can drink my funny beer (Note to all, BYOB if you stay to bench race, I'm suppling Pat cause of all he does for the club (Novice 1 & 2, M1 & M2...) but not everyone else... Dave P, there's still some Leinies HV leftover from what you bought last time...

Hello All,
I just want to say "Thank You" to everyone who participated and made this alignment demo possible. I learned alot about alignment and suspension setup, so much that I am allready forgetting things. Pat brought up the ackermann angle which is something that will help my Civic, come time to modifiy it even more. For now I am going to test out various front toe angles, going more toe-out (1/4"-1/2" ) than ever before and seeing how it changes the feel of the car. Thanks again for everyone who attended. :D

Next time I'll make sure to come and I'll bring enough home brew to share. If there's any around. Our supplies are running a little low at the moment.
