I got a carbon fiber hood and wondering if that will bump me from STS2 into a different car class?

Thanks,

95 Del Sol I was running today in STS2

I was admiring it all day. I was talk to my buddy Dan whoalso thought it was cool. I would run a del sol if I were to run STS2

Yeah I picked it up for a commuter car. I was quite impressed with it and how it handled in STS2 and WOW that is a tough class. But the car did well and then she took a poo turning on to HWY 101. Timing belt broke. Going to take a look at it tomorrow. So I ran in STS today with Nick Sundberg in a Black 98 GSR. So I hope to be running the Del Sol in June. Might be in SM2 with a B16 if the motor is shot. There I will be taking last all season. :)

Then leave the hood out of it and do a complete conversion and he could still run in stock, or do an almost complete but what your allowed to change and run in sts, sp, etc.

CF hood gonna land him in SM2 one way or another.

Correct me if I am wrong. But since my car came with a D-series engine. I upgrade to a B-series even though the car can come with a B-series. Wouldn't I still go in to SM2? I doubt I could still run STS2 with an engine swap. Since I am not putting the same motor that the car came with factory??

If you change everything on your car, besides what you have allowances for per the rules you could put the better engine in from the Si model(right?) but you have to up the car to be an Si model. You've got to make a base model into an Si model essentially.

This goes for stock class mostly, but if it up for stock should be ok for STS2 as well.

Really. Well damn. I will have to see what differs from my 95si to a Del Sol vtec that came with the B16 engine... Now when you say I must do all to make mine an exact replica (this is what I am taking you meant) does this mean all... Cause the del sol vtec's had a slightly different front bumper that is what I can think of just off the top of my head. Can you link me to this in the rules or give me direction to where to look in the rules?!

Thanks,
Justin

http://www.scca.org/Solo/Index.asp?IdS=0015B3-A26EF40&x=050|070&~=

this is where you can find rules on any of the classes and what you can do

i know in prepared you can update/backdate the cars
