Wait, so is the rule that if the letter is post marked on the opening date, you get in? Or is it that it has to arrive on the day of opening?

Better get your timing down Roger!

Paypal is my best friend :) Staying up till 12am that night :D

Any predictions on how long it will take for MOWOG 1 to fill up? I'm gonna say the last registration will be entered on April 10th by 8:30pm.

Mail-in registration forms are attached to the listing for each event at MyAutoEvents.com.

Here's a link for MOWOG 1:

Make sure your entry for MOWOG 1 isn't postmarked befre April 6th.;)

Yes (you have to sign a waiver) BUT
It's way more fun to do than watch...
Just do it!!!

I agree, just get in there and do it. I did my first autocrosses in a 1992 Plymouth Sundance. Proof positive that ANYTHING can autocross.

Correction: My FIRST autocross was in Dad's 1983 BMW 533i, but my first autocross in a car I owned was in a 1992 Plymouth Sundance

Sweet. I'd participate but I want to wait to go through MAC first. I don't want to look like a complete noob out there... gotta think about the wellfare of the cones. :gunnin: :cone:

Go thru MAC???
2nd Chance Novice School???

Lessee
Eight MOWOG's:

Before 2nd chance school:
Two MOWOG's

After 2nd chance school:

Six MOWOG's

Percent of Events missed while waiting:
25%

MOWOG's at Valleyfair (LARGE lot, fast nationals type course) AFTER 2nd Chance School:
ZERO

Doesn't add up for me, shouldn't add up for you.

JUST DO IT!!!

And remember that you can ask for a ride along instructor at VF.

We WANT you to can ask for a ride along instructor. We will be easily available, just ask anyone and someone will point us out.

Don't wait, you will reget it big time. The Valleyfair site is not to be passed up.

Don't worry, no one will judge you.

Some of the fastest drivers tend to hit the most cones, anyway.

Novice school will make more sense if you have autoxed before anyway.

If you're driving an RX-7, you'll look cool even if you don't drive well. :) Believe me, after being a spectator for MOWOG 3 last year, it was extremely difficult to wait until MOWOG 6 before finally running my old RX-7. Just ask any questions you have here on the forum. I made it out to be a lot bigger deal than it really was. Go to the 1st event and after your 1st run, you'll have a big goofy grin on your face.

This is what I looked like after my 1st run > :D

No, your grin was wider than that!!!

EDIT,

Don't worry what you look like/will do. My first run I spun the car, got back to the start, was nervous about what they'd say and the starter said something like "looks like you're havin fun out there, keep at it"***. If you haven't figured out yet that we're all about driver improvement, having fun, sharing the sport with others and pushing the cars limits (in a safe enviornment) you will soon enough.

My current avatar picture was taken at the end of a run. The car is set up wrong, the tires are miserable, and I started autocrossing in 1968. I'm still smiling, winning or not.

Whether you run or not, you should go to every autocross you can to see how things work.

If you are running, arrive EARLY and ask lots of questions.

In the meantime, ask lots of questions here.

To reduce your hassle, get your own number (a buck a season) and get your own helmet (OK, that's not as cheap).

Even if you register and your car isn't ready, show up anyways. you might be able to talk someone into letting you run their car.

I'm planning to run both. My intentions are to run all MOWOG's and hopefully a couple TnT's. We'll see if that works out or not.

Oh, yeah. Hope it is not cold like last year. I couldn't get the Lotus to roll into its camber and had no stick at all. The first-place trophy looks good, but my overall ranking sucked.

I've always read in all the auto-x FAQs and guides that auto-x people are 8) and I guess it holds true. If I can weasle out of work I'll be there. I actually just went on a cyber shopping spree to get some much needed things like speed bleeders and new sway bar bushings just for the occasion. ;)

Turns out I know AlexL from elsewhere too... what a small world. :D

Thanks for answering all the noob questions guys, this is sounding more and more fun by the day.

Just wait until you actually compete in an event. You'll have an itch that will never go away.

That is the weekend before finals, so while I could make both events, I'm going with my better judgement ( maybe not? ) to limit myself to one event. :(

COBB Stage 1 Bars and Azenis RT-615's mounted. Running COBB Stage 2 power with Turbo back system, will re-flash to stock for event.

Notice the new stiffness, rear wheel off the ground when using jack in front position.

Reminds me of my MG Midget. Two pumps and both tires were up. Sway bars!

I just put my summer tires on yesterday, tight suspensions make it easy!!!
this weekend I needed to get under just the fron of my car so I jacked up one side of the car put jack stand under it, then on to the other side. when I went to put it down I thought it was going to tripod it self off the jackstand!! scary
