View Full Version : Wow!
Does it get any better than this?
91 entrants, 6 runs, 45 minutes of 'driver instructional runs' Done, packed up and on the way home at 4:54.
Hey, and all the help volunteers that made this run so smoothly
You all are to be congratulated. Do I need to list all the jobs?
And transition times [worker changeover] were in the 3-5 minute range. Wow!
[and 'sides, I won my class]
Joel Dirnberger did a great job as a new Event Master, with help from Jeremy, not just a good course, but of managing the event.
Wew did have some disagreements about the course, and moved the finish back a bit.
But, we're all friends here and can work it out, can't we?
There were on an less upbeat note, some who thought that staying to help wrap things up, wasn't something they should help with.
Hey, this isn't just my club, it's all of ours.
Let's take care of our equipment!
Again, GREAT JOB!

Just remember Dwight it was fathers day and those of us who were unable to bring our fathers to MOWOG 3 might have had evening plans. I try to stay to the end every event but this time I was not able.

I agree, it was a well run event. Probably the smoothest MAC event I've attended yet. Lot's of runs, quick turnover and times posted right away. And I liked the course layout too.
I have to admit, I was guilty of leaving early too. Had a Father's Day thing to get to. I usaully stay around till the end, but couldn't yestereday. Even missed buck runs.

Seemed like everything went very well. I would personally have liked a longer course, but hey...who wouldn't. It was fun. The self-looping feature fortunately did not become a problem. A reminder to would-be course designers (yes, you too can design a course!) please check the link to Roger "the Real" Johnson's course design handbook. Extremely valuable information and should be required reading before doing a course design.
Thanks to rdub for lending me his BMW for the day...kinda felt like I was in my old "car-****" days again! BFG g-Force KD's rock.
P.S. Sorry I bailed right after runs ended too, but I have a 3 hour drive to get home! :zzz

Yea I was in the same boat, I would have hung around for buck runs and clean-up but promises were made for Fathers Day

It was fun until the second run group and my the cross member fell out of my GTI. Oh well!!! I did get my fastest run in when it was raining and I had the wipers on full so I could see where I was going. 32.8 in the pouring ran ain't to bad.

32.8 in the Acura or the GTI?

I had (what I think) was my fastest run going in the rain too. The wetness caught up with me though and lost braking and plowed out a little on the last right hand corner which knocked me back down to a 33.1. That was my last run, so I had to "let" Randy take the win. :sarc

It was of course in the Acura. I think my fastest run in the GTI was 34.3, before it broke. My ugly brother got a 33.8 in it. Hopefully I can get all of the bugs out of the GTI so I can work on making it handle better. Then Jon Boos watch out, I'm coming to BIR to kick your a$$ with all 105hp. (at the crank about 11 years ago)
Pat, Wasn't it fun to race in the rain. I like it when the ground is a little slick. It also helps that the air cools off and the VTEC really kicks.

Rain = fun! (Except when your in a Formula Ford...then it's just plain painful.) Rain definately seperates the drivers, you learn an awful lot.

Except when you run in the rain and everybody else runs in the dry, like what happened to Matt! :D
