My wife was watching FoxNews so I wandered in to see the story on the club fires and local clubs' adherence to fire codes.

Saw the teasers for the ice-driving story, so I made a point to watch it. Is Steve Mundy a club guy in town, or someone who heard about this elsewhere?

Sue didn't know where Lake Cynthia was so I told her I thought it was the pond across the road from Youngdahl's farm.

The club president Keith Anderson called a bunch of local tv stations to see if they were interested in airing something other than fires, explosions and other violent stuff. That is how the guy from Fox got to know about the event.

Notice how Keith cunningly told the reporter that the event is a Driving School only. In reality it is a mix of School and Ra..oops..er..I mean Radical Driving Skills Event.

In typical local news fashion, the tv blurb spent more airtime on people's faces than the cars themselves. Hey, at least it was better than nothing.

Overall, the event was decent, but not as nice as the first two. The Snow had melted and refrozen to form a somewhat hard, bumpy course, where it paid to slam into the hardened snow sideways. Something I would only do if I owned a $200 car. The courses for the previous two events were really smooth and nice in comparison. It seems that the best events tend to be towards the beginning of the season, before all the melting and freezing has taken place.
