Questions. What is sorted? What is well sorted?

I think it means the owner of said car has figured out how to make it go fast really well in a number of different situations. As the owner makes changes to the car, whether it be peformance parts or suspension/motor adjustments, he/she has figured out exactly what effect each change has on the car and then makes those changes to maximize performance.
The advantage to someone buying a well sorted car is that they don't have to spend a lot of money or time figuring out what works and what doesnt work from a performance perspective.
Someone jump in and add or correct me. At least thats what I think when I see that term used to describe a car.

Their budget is about $400 million, you'd hope their cars were well sorted... :D

I know he means about a sorted out car, but I'm not sure if I have ever driven a sorted out car.
The GSR might be, but it would have happened by luck. The springs came with the car, I added the rear sway bar off my GSR Sedan, (which is the same brand as the springs), the front struts are koni's, and the rears are KYB's. I'm sure there is tweaking that could still be done.
"sorted"means I could hand you Steve,a good driver, the keys to my car and you could go fast and feel comfortable at or near the limit of the car, right away with no excuses needed for the car.The integra type R,mazda miataR are good examples of well sorted stock vehicles.

And depending on the car and its idiosyncrasies, you may get it sorted to be comfortable, but some cars NEVER get TOTALLY SORTED. Some of it may even be a little bit psychological...or maybe your expectations. You may always think "This car is comfortable...BUT the turn in is poor..." In reality, it MAY be chassis or suspension flex (steel) and CAN'T be cured by the average (or above average) guy. Using my VEE as an example, I THINK the handling is as good as it will EVER get....FINALLY...and I've owned it almost 20 years! There are about 100 changes I've made on it, some needing machining or parts fabrication. Actually, NOTHING is the same as when I bought it...NOTHING! Such is the fun of....SORTING...... :)
