It might be half true, but I doubt it. I think a good exhaust and intake on a Integra will get you maybe 10-15hp, but that is nothing that is going to make the car seriously fast.

Your Integra has some serious flaws for autoxing. It is heavy, no LSD, FWD, and a very peaky motor. A Type-R fixes everything, since it has LSD, is more balanced, and has a closer ratio transmission. Not that a GSR can't be competitive. I have seen people be pretty fast in them. Plus you won't have to spend anytime working on it because nothing ever breaks on them.

Havn't you seen all those ricers cruising up and down University Ave with huge tail pipes, blue neon windshield nozzles, and a monstous wing bolted to the 24 guage trunk? Oh ya, and a 10" diameter tach screwed to the dash, above the shifter for their automatic trans.

You forgot to add in the having the factory steel wheels on front and the big
after market wheels on back. This gives them maxium power. Look out Mustangs!!!
This Civic runs the 1/4 in the high teens.

Hey, you never know! I might be over 40 now, but the nature of the note wasn't lost on me, I just don't know what "ture" means! :)

BTW, since I live in the center of the automotive universe, Wausau, WI, I don't often get to see those works of art rolling around out there. We do, however, have a White Neon with 18" tall letters across the entire 2 sides of the car, front to back, reading "Type R" I bust a nut every time I see it!.

It almost drives me insane when I find myself on Division Street on a Saturday night. Ricers everywhere (no offense intended to Asians or import drivers), and they all think they'd beat me. Nasty thing is - I don't street race. Too much conscience, I guess. I might run them to 35, but that's it. Makes my blood boil when I see NOS stickers all over, and I'm damn sure there ain't a whiff to be found. Mayby some 'nawss', though! :sarc
