I need to corner weigt my car and get the overall weight. The internet lists far too many weights for the car, and while I'm at it I want the corner weights so that I can order some new coilovers (over the winter) for next year.
Apparently my car either weighs 2825 lbs or it weighs 2965. More sources list it as 2825, which is coincidentally the stock weight of a GC8. I am quite sure it's heavier than a gc8 but i want to confirm it and know what i'm dealing with.

SpeedLab http://www.speedlabmotorsports.com has cornerweight scales. I think their shop rate is $75/hr. If all you want is weights, they should be able to get that done in an hour or less. Give them a call.

p.s. If you'd been at the Test 'N Tune this Summer, SpeedLab would have weighed your car for free. ;)

Your car does not weigh 2825...I am sure of that!
...but, I have heard good things about Speedlab. They did the corner weighing at the test'n'tune.
...you know who.... ;)

The Pilot in St. Cloud right off of 94 has a scale but that is not for corner weights.

I've heard a couple of people say that if you go to a state weigh station, they'll do it for free if their not busy.

Here is someone who would disagree:

and these guys too:

Which is why i was wondering. I'll wait till I have the money to actually weight the car, but I am getting curious as to what it comes out as.

For a free weight, go to a scrapyard. You won't get corner weights, but you might get front and rear weights.
For a proper corner-weight job, go to Murray or Speedlab or the like.

Edmunds ALSO list the car at a much more believable 2965lbs in their spec sheet...

Christian is right. There is NO way your car's curb weight is only 2825!
Here is another source that lists it at 2965...

And the latest RS has gained yet another 50 lbs

Come to GodSquad if you want weight reductions. I will have my angle grinder waiting. You don't mind sitting on a pickle bucket and steering with a vise grips attached to the hub do you?

I can dream can't I?
Yeah, i'm pretty sure that some lazy journalists just threw in the 01 numbers, but i still need a corner weight to see what i'm up against an get some new struts and springs. As you can see, credible information on my model can be difficult to come by. Sometimes they weight it as a WRX, sometimes as a GC8. Driving a GC8 and driving mine, its clearly a heavier car, but by how much is what I'd like to know.
I hope that newfound HP the 2.5i has helps i usher around that extra weight.
Although, subysport magazine id just build a 2.5i to make 140-150WHP on less than $2000 worth of parts, so its gotta have something better going for it.

Metric Auto Works in St. Paul brought corner scales to this year’s Volksport Show. I’m guessing that they have the equipment in their shop on the West Side of St. Paul.

I get my VW repaired there. They are super nice and very competent.
