I'm planning on buying autocross tires this season for my 1994 Honda Civic del Sol running in DSP. I'm trying to stay around $1k so no high priced rims. I was looking at some light 15"X6.5" rota rims and 205/50 r15's. But now some people I know are recomeding I go with 13"X8" rims with 235/45 r13 rubber. and they are saying that the 13" rimms would perform better.

Anyone here have experience or advice on the subject?

I'm not sure if you can do 13's. If they fit over your brakes that is
great, but I kind of doubt it. You might be able to check with someone
else. Otherwise look for some 15x7's and go with 205/50R15's.
You should be able to find a light set for with tires for under 1k.

good luck, and welcome to DSP

I bought a set of 13x7 Revolutions for my '91 CRX Si which will be in CSP this season. Althought a tight fit, they clear the front & rear discs. The lighter and smaller diameter wheels are less unsprung weight and effectively reduces your final drive ratio, spooling up quicker.

13's have been the trick set-up for nationals guys for years.
BUT with 13's ,you limit your tire choices and not too many mfgs will continue making them.As for unsprung weight, yes the tires are lighter, but there aren't many "cheap" light 13 inch wheels.Unless you are going to be a serious Nationals DSP competitor then I'd recomend the 15 inchers.Check out the 15X7 kosei's with azenis.Good for DSP or STS
