I need a shop with a rolling road dyno to program the TEC II in the Dutton. Tim at Dyno-Tech, who I've used before, has never done one and didn't seem inclined to learn. I heard the name of a shop up nort' that does imports, but lost it. Does anyone have any recommendations?

Tuning a TEC-II shouldn't be any different from any ECUs the dynoshop are familiar with. If they just don't want to operate the TEC software, they can just provide you with the interpretation of the dyno graphs (they tell you if you need to advance/retard at what RPM, and add/remove fuel at what RPM) and then you edit your timing/fuel accordingly. Of course this means you have to know how to operate the TEC software and at least have an idea how to adjust timing and fuel (which eventually you have to anyways).

Also go to this site: http://www.vishnutuning.com and lookup the authorized installers. I know there's one in MN, i assume they deal with TEC-II/III also and hopefully can point you to a dyno that can help you out.

Hope this helps.

Brian, get in touch with my son Jon. apple_bit@mnautox.com He had his Porsche at a shop in Crystal, MN. I think the name was S & S. Whether or not they can do the Tec II or not, it's the only shop I know of.

You might also give http://www.johnhaleymotorsports.com a call. They are sponsoring the local ice racers this season. They have a dyno but not sure what type. Located in St Louis Park. Be sure to mention IIRA if you call them.

I recommend Elite Autosport in Minneapolis. I have dynoed my car there many times as has my Girlfriend and 30 to 40 of my friends that I have set up dyno days for.

The head technician there uses stand alone engine management on his own vehicle as does the owner. They have a dyno and I have watched them tune cars on it. The are mainly an DSM shop but I have seen everything on there dyno.

I have seen many good results from Elite dyno tuning with stand alone systems or piggy back devices. They are good crew.

The owner uses the new AEM EMS system that is out and the head tech used to use Haltech but is switching to AEM EMS. I bought my Haltech from him and plan on consulting him for final tuning.

Give Elite a call. 612-521-0550. Tell them Llew sent ya. :)

I would stay away from S&S for dyno tuning. I have friends that have lost motors to S&S dyno tuning methods.

Thanks to all who responded. It's great to have advice from people who have been there.
