I was going to build this into an autocrosser, but I decided on a different project instead. Looking for a quick sale!
1987 VW Jetta GL
- 1.8l 8v (150K+ miles)
- 5 speed manual

MECHANICAL CONDITION:
Tranny:
Bad news. The transmission appears to be shot. I think it's stuck in 4th gear right now, and it won't come out. You can move the shifter around, but it doesn't come out of gear. Plan on replacing it.
Engine:
Unknown. I've had this car for a short period of time, and I've never tried to start it. I was going to use it for a 2.0 swap. The previous owner reported that it ran pretty good before parking it. He quit driving it because of the tranny problems. Someone else here has a free 1.8l -- get that!!
Suspension/Brakes/Wheels:
It's been sitting for 2+ years. Unknown. The two front tires were new just before it was parked. Riding on 13" rims.
PHYSICAL CONDITION:
Interior:
Very nice! It's brown, and a little musty, but the general condition is excellent. However, it is missing the radio and the heater controls.
Exterior:
Gold in color. There is a little bit of rust (maybe 2% of the car), but the paint in all other areas is very sharp -- still shiny! Windshield is cracked pretty bad. All other windows are fine.
This car will not drive, and will have to be hauled out. I can haul within one hour for no charge.
Car is located in Medford, MN -- about one hour south of Minneapolis, MN.
