Hello everyone, some of you may remember me. I'm Tony C. Nguyen who ran either a CSPT CRX or 3rd gen Prelude years ago. I miss autocrossing a lot. The time spent away was due to my business growing rapidly and my newborn son. I'm trying to make extra time out of my schedule to get back into the game. I really miss the Dakota track!! It was just so close to Eagan!!!! I dont mind driving to Hennipen Tech, but I was spoiled by the Rosemount track being so close. I havent yet been to St. Cloud, but I plan to soon. I have since sold that 88 CSP CRX.

My 91i sll stripped, ready for a complete custom paint job, (actually its been collecting dust in the shop for quite some time). That will be my baby. In the meantime, I have a few 4th gen Civic/CRX's set up for drag racing instead of road course. My '89 Prelude is more of a show car and whale. It understeers badly, feels heavy, and the power steering cant keep up with quick steering transistions.

When I sold that 88 CRX, I picked up a rust free, mint '91 (4 wheel disc) CRX. I began by tearing it down for a complete makeover. Everything was taken apart for the best possible paint job. Fast forward a couple years later......it still sits there, all apart in the shop. I need to find time for that, but working on customer's cars pays the bills, not your own.

After taking the Prelude to a couple events and seeing how poorly it handled compared to the CRX, I was dissappointed. They were actually in the same class......"C". The CRX was "D", but when lowered, jumps to "C". ( has the rules changed?)

My time to race became more scarce when my son was born. Now that he's getting "older" I was more time free. It seems like he will be a car nut just like his dad:)

Sorry for all the rambling, I just thought it would be a good re-introduction.

Now for some questions:

What is the MIDWAY STADIUM and where is it at? Is there any sites I could see pics or maybe even drive there to check it out?

The Falken Azenis will still put me in the Street Tire class right?

I need to get back into the GROOVE!!!!

Thanks for your time, glad to be back!!

Hey Tony, congratulations! You sound like me. I have 5.5 month old daughter and also started a business this year building home PCs. I have been doing all the MOWOGs so far, but only MOWOGs this year. I need my break from the insanity, know what I mean?!
I rmember your Honda. It had the nice custom upholstered red seats. Good to hear from you and welcome back!

Falken's are still considered street tires, and boy do I love them!

Midway is right by the state fairgrounds, home of the Saints.

Welcome back Tony. Midway can be reached by going north on Snelling and west on Energy Park Drive, turn right into the Midway Stadium parking lot. Midway's not Dakota but pretty good for a traditional auto-x event.

Thanks for the warm welcome, glad to be back! Can anyone give me specific details of the schedule for Sat.? I assume my number...."84" is taken already this season. I guess I will be using my "drag" CRX this weekend if I can make some changes to the suspension in time. I also need to get some Azenis mounted on some stock CRX 14" rims in time. If any of the MN Discount tire stores don't have any in stock, I may be able to borrow a set from some fellow friends that have been racing in St. Cloud.

Should I be watching the weather closely for Sat. or will it still go on Rain or Shine?

Nice to hear from you guys again.......looking forward to seeing you at the event if I'm able to make it.

P.S. By the way, how do I go about using the "signature" feature?

Hey Tony, we missed you. Glad to have you back.
Yes we will run rain or shine. Just like formula 1 or any road racing. We did draw the line with slush at the novice school though.
Hey I'm a Dad! Jon will be there, maybe my oldest son Brian, and Rick, well no license yet.

WOW thanks for making me realize the event is this SUNDAY, not tomorrow. My father lives in California so I dont feel guilty auto xing on Father's day!! I would love to bring my son, but I think he needs to be a little older. I can't wait to take him on some "buck runs".

Question: How old does a person have to be to ride with an auto xer?
