Outa town or I would, I haven't made Milwaulkee yet & I need to.

Looking at the drivers with the exception of Chris you could be called the Minnesota Miata Mafia, adding Chris maybe you should be the MAC Miata Mafia :-)

HA! The Miata Mafia. Exactly the label I was thinking of for this group.

Good luck Darryl et al. Should be a good time in Milwaukee.

OK, here's the deal - I'll have to scramble this week to get the Durango fixed in time to tow the trailer to Milwaukee. Do decrease the uncertainty, I have a proposal: If someone has a tow vehicle, I'll let you co-drive the Miata in Milwaukee, if you tow the trailer to/from the event. Anyone interested?

sorry steve, i don't have a tow vehicle
i was thinking of something much more mundane. with all these miata's/drivers, can I skip bringing a jack and borrow someone else's? seems silly that we all bring everything. i'll certainly help others with the switch to racers and back. i could bring a pump instead that peeps could borrow.
i guess i'm a little concerned as this is the first time jamming the 4 racers in my car and want the other room for clothes, wallet, proof of car insurance, etc.!
i'm really looking forward to this fantastic trip, wish i had more seat time with the R's before lookin silly.

"Co-drive the Miata"? I might be able to scare up a 4.0l ranger...think that's up to it?

Steve,

4.0l Ranger, A/C, covered bed (but no electric brake hook-ups), good to go otherwise......

I don't think it would weather the trip well. The trailer is pretty heavy - I know Neal's GMC 1500 1/2 ton pickup was gruntng pretty hard to Toledo & back.

I've pulled a 8 1/2' wide x 16' long, 9' tall enclosed trailer with 5 streetbikes with it in the past.

Your call, I'm willing if you are (I'll have to cancel my MOWOG 4 entry if we're going too)....

If you're willing to abuse the truck, the offer stands. Do you have a 7-pin plug for the lights? If not, you'll need an adapter. We have a couple rooms booked, but I think all the beds are full. So you'll either need to get another room or bring a good air mattress. Note: it would be nice to leave by mid-afternoon on Friday. I think most of the other guys are planning to get there in time to check out the course, then go out to dinner.

-Steve

p.s. I don't think we'd have much trouble filling your spot at MOWOG 4. ;)

I'm up for it! I could run by sometime earlier in the week to make a "test fitting" for the truck/trailer, take it for a drag around town first if that would help seal teh deal.

As for departure time I'm self employed and the boss (that would be me) is pretty flexable on my hours!

So what am I look at here? Is it a Saturday/Sunday race both days kind of an event? That'll be tough to take!

Feel free to e-mail direct (thetick217@yahoo.com), or call at 612-840-3037 to make plans.....

John

P.S. WOO WHOOOOOO!

I just received word from Jeff Cashmore in Milwaukee. He said they are not setting up the course Friday night. It looks like bench racing only on Friday night.

In that case, we might as well meet up at the hotel & eat in the vicinity. I'd like to get there by 7 PM or so.

If you want STX competition, Milwaukee's the place to go. Even with a few of us leaving the class, you'll probably have a dozen cars in the class. 8)

Damn! I wish I could go! I have two graduations on Saturday...my daughter and my wife!

I just made a deal for the Peru National Tour though. I will co-drive Jim Harns new Mini. The one with the lower second gear on sticker S03's. Jim was close to taking the win at Toledo, and we expect the car to be a front runner in Peru. Woo, hoo...first time at a big event in almost 2 years. :)

Jim looked pretty good in Toledo. It would be pretty cool to see either/both of you take down Chiles.8)

BTW - I hope those are S05's he has on the car! ;)

Nope...Ess - Ohhh - Three's. Chiles even has sets of these in reserve. He evidently feels they may be faster too. Jim is saving his for Topeka (he is also testing Kumhos and SO5's between now and then) and we think Mark might be saving a set for Nat's too.

That's interesting..... All the tire testing at the Nationals warmup event should be REAL interesting: S05's, S03's, V710's, Hankooks, Avons (did I miss any?). The only thing we can be sure of is that NO ONE seems very interested in running S04's! :p

-Steve

p.s. I'm still holding out slim hopes that Kumho will come through with the 245/45-15 they promised last year. :(
