<Economics> Since there is so much demand and not enough supply we could possibly raise prices. However since I would think that there would be fairly elastic demand for autocrossing the other alternative is to increase supply. </economics>
Is it a possibility to have more events next year? I'm sure it would require more people that are active in the club. I suppose if someone could find larger sites that could accomodate more cars, that would help.

Or we could scalp our entries :-)
If we stay with the same sites (always hard to find new sites, esp LARGE ones) and add dates we'd still end up with the same core going to the additional events and filling them up unless we did the Soup Nazi thing...
No easy answers for this one but success (lots of entries & volunteers) is a better problem to manage than one of declining interest/participants.

1) You could require membership. 20 bucks for the year is cheap and just assign/include a permanent number for the year.

2) For online registration, eliminate the pay at the event option. That will help control no-shows.

The last couple of events we did at DCTC were 139 and 146 entrants.
What is the reason for the 100 entry limit?

This thread begs to ask the question...should co-drives have priority over members? I think going to pre-pay is the worst idea we could impose... The only reason I sign up ahead is because of the limit being reached so consistently this year. If we all had to pre-pay, it would get even worse as I wouldn't sign up until a week ahead of time due to uncertainties (I may have to travel for work with less than a weeks notice), and then...I don't get in anyway.

Ok, I lit the match, someone else hit the valve on the gas line....

We plan on discussing this at the next Monthly meeting. We have had a dramatic upsurge in participants and we need to discuss how best to manage our new popularity. I encourage anyone interested to attend the meeting, which will be held on June 27th at the usual place (Parrish's in St. Paul)

You can pre-register without pre-paying. Why not just pre-register and if you can't make it then someone on the waiting list gets in. You lose nothing. I really don't see a problem with this system.

I just deleted my entry to try and pay Via Credit card, but since the number entered is already over the maximum registration number, i can't re create it my self. OOPS.

So if the registrar could re-add me to the list, that would be great.
i still do plan on coming to the event and running.

There is a good number of people that sign up as soon as registeration opens, but later can't make the event (about 10-15 an event), so the waiting list is people lining up to take their place once they back out.

Get on the Volunteer list already. They need all the workers they can get. Then you can help out if you make it or not :)

From the minutes for the MAC membership meeting the other night:
=======
Multiple Registrations.
• Since all of the rest of the events this year have filled with Preregistered entrants, there have been a number of people who feel if is not worth putting their name on the Waiting List with the uncertainty of being able to run. Heretofore, every driver has had the opportunity to drive two cars. However, under the present situation, this is preventing some single car drivers from running.
• Following much discussion, it was agreed that an informal request be made to those drivers who are registered more than once for the remaining events to remove one registration. A full refund will be made if they have prepaid. The second car can be placed on the Waiting List and would be able to run if there is room.

The number of people that were listed was 119 (right after one person dropped out), so that means 120 were allowed in. But now the entry limit on myautoevents says the event was limited to 100 people. I assume the number was dropped after they already had the entries full so that when one person dropped out, another couldn't sneak in. Instead they can let people in based on the waiting list.

But I may be entirely wrong. Either way, I'm 24th :(

i like your idea, but i don't want to have to damage my car to punish the offender.
but i know of 2 things that can be found at any autox that can easily be put together for a quick, non-damaging form of punishment: Jumper cables and a car battery

No it wasn't. I suppose I should add it now. I've had a fairly defeatist attitute about getting into this event. I want to make plans with my wife for a travel weekend to the cities. (I live in Wausau, WI. She likes to be dropped off at the Mall...go figure!) It is very difficult to know that I probably can't autocross with my buds this weekend. I may stop by anyway and work anyway if we go, that's better than sitting at home (!), but I'm really hoping we can solve this problem soon. Or, maybe LaCrosse.....hmmmmmm.

Woo Hoo! I'm #1! I'm #1! I'm #1! (On the waiting list anyway!) :D

Once I get behind the wheel on Sunday I'll probably be close to D.F.L. (Dead Freaking Last....not Dumb Freakin' Liberal)

My tire situation didn't pan out the way I had hoped, so unfortunately, I'm out. Please take me off the list. (Justin Tilus, #132 si) :(

-Just another stinkin' event as a spectator.

Why not run street tire index, or SI? At least it is seat time?

Steve --- Thanks

We had some posts earlier during the election time slanted in both political directions & at that time asked to have the posts stay on subject (cars), you weren't involved then so didn't know about it. No apology needed, but thanks for your reply.

I was planning to run SI, but I just purchased this car on Tuesday, and haven't had time to get tires. The tires that are on it are weather checked, mismatched, generic tires that aren't even the right size. A nice set of 205/60/13 's is hard to come by 5 days before an event. I guess I'll just have more time to prepare for MOWOG 6. I will, however be bringing my helmet tomorrow, so if anyone cares to take this spectator for a ride...I wouldn't decline the offer. I hear those RX8's are a pretty fun ride...hint, hint. hehe. BTW, if anyone needs help with anything tomorrow, don't hesitate to ask. :)

Well I need my car jacked up, all 4 wheels swapped, and oh yeah! I need someone to fan me to keep me cool :D

j/k, But if your interested, I may need someone to man one of the cameras I will have along. I have a friend who is suppose to be coming, but if he doesn't show, I'll need a replacement. It would be just a basic digicam you'd be using. Interested? Hit me up at the race. I'll be in the green Toyota Camry that you see in my Avatar (same numbers l) ).
