I'm sorry, Lee. I am extremely unlikely to be there. Thanks to the folks who have offered me drives, but I just need to get some stuff done for the conventions this summer.

There is a box of Met-Council-Numbers envelopes in the trailer. Registration people can hand one of these pre-addressed envelopes to anyone who requests a permanent number.

Lee,

I can take the Grid Chief job. Do you want to try a temporary grid for this event? If so, I can get the grid set up for you. If not, I'll just make sure the cars are lined up as usual. ;)

Well I don't know.
Should we, any of us reject someone wanting to volunteer?
I don't think so!
Thank you for your efforts.
Very much!

Lee,

Per our discussions at the meeting last night, I added Darryl Wrolson as EM. That should give you more time to give us a kickin' course! 8)

Lee, St. Cloud is close for me from Cambridge. Let me know what time you need course or general setup people and I'll be there.

Gary,

If you can get there by 7:30 AM, you can help me get the grid set up. We'll be using A & B Grids, like at Valleyfair.

Ok, we have 130 signed up for the event and half the volunteer positions open. As you all know these events work best when we all have the volunteer positions filled before the event. St. Cloud is the most difficult venue to staff because it’s spread out so much. I expect this list to fill by late Thursday. If it doesn’t don’t expect 6 runs or fun runs.

PLEASE SIGN UP NOW.

Thanks,

when we figure out what's up for the novice walk/drive, I'll be in for that. Don't known how soon I'll be able to make the trek, and we've got some set up on the yellow jacket to deal with, but per usual I'll fill in where I can.

Put me down for course set up too. The first time out with the Sprite/R compounds I need more AM time free so I won't be able to help with registration...
What time do the gates open --- 7:30?

Lee may have a better answer, but it sounds like we're somewhat at the mercy of the Grad student who shows up to open the gate. It would be great to be onsite by 7 AM, but I'm not counting on it.

I just got word from my cousin (Russ Alexander) that he's been asked to work on Sunday, so he'll not be able to help out with setup in the morning.

Sorry about the late notice.

If there's a job that I could double up on...for instance general setup, and tech afterward, I'm willing to do so.

We'd love your help! What to do for registration?

Say Hi, take money, check their license, verify all pre-registered info & steer them to the worker signup station.

And we always like help - new or otherwise, and appreciate it, it's too easy to get burned out if the same people do all the work all the time & it's a lot of work to run a good event for 100+ entrants.

Bottom line is the more people that volunteer the better it runs.

8) Sign me (Frankie Stanton) up for registration then. What time do I need to be there? I was planning on caravaning up with a few friends, but if I have to be there sooner, thats not a problem.

P.S. Might make it easier getting people signed up too if you let them all know what time they have to be at the track in the signup.

Frankie,
7:30 would be ideal as the easy ups, tables, chairs, forms & organization all need to be in place before 8:00.

well I just had a surgury this last Tusday so I will not be able to make it to this event or probably the next few actualy. Since Im a new member many of you probably wont even notice Im not their anyways. Good luck to you all. Hope the event goes well.

You take it just as easy as you have to. In future events, when you are better, you might want to consider a sit-down job in timing. Take care of yourself. We'll wait.

No, I saw that...I ment that you should list what times people need to be there for the stuff they are volunteering to help with. That way we don't sleep in to late. :zzz I have a bad habbit of doing that. Looks like I'll be going to bed early on Satruday.

Novice Walkthru-- ?
I would like to help with the Novice Walkthru, if you don't mind a non-member doing this.

Who the heck am I? Autocrossing in Winnipeg and Western Canada since 2000. Took Phases 1 and 2 of the Evo school. Been instructing in the Winnipeg autocross school for the last 3 years. Current Winnipeg rookie program director.

Corey,

I'm sure we can find somewhere to put you to work. Check in with Dave Parsons, our Driver Education Chair, on Sunday when you get to the event. We'll need instructors in two areas:

1. We conduct a Novice course walk prior to the driver's meeting. This is normally led by a single instructor. For this event, we're changing things up a bit. We're going to have 6-8 instructors available to take three Novices each on a Novice course drive. This is being done because A) the course is quite long and B) the site presents some unique safety issues that Novice drivers haven't been exposed to in parking lot autocrosses. Note: this is MAC's first event of the year at the St. Cloud site.

2. We'll need 3-4 instructors for the first two heats. We're requiring a first-run instructor ride along for all Novice drivers. This will count as a work assignment.

The gates will be open around 7 AM. We'll probably hold people up for a few minutes, until we can cordon off the paddock to keep cars out of the course & grid.

Man am I glad we have you'all!
You are the lifeblood of this sport.
Tom, I went through two surgeries in '03. Rotator cuff surgeries on both shoulders three months apart.
got so bad in '02,
I wasn't even using my left arm to steer.
But I'm back, sorta, and getting better all the time.........
Do your therapy, religiously!

I went out there to help with their school last spring. They're a great group of people! Then again, I haven't met an autocross club that wasn't a great group... ;)
