MAC's next event is coming up soon. On May 21st, we will be conducting a Test 'N Tune event for MAC members only. This event is limited to 50 drivers, to ensure everyone gets plenty of seat time and access to specialized equipment. Here's a detailed schedule for the event:
8:00 AM - 9:00 AM Registration
8:00 AM - 9:15 AM Technical Inspection
9:30 AM Drivers' Meeting
10:00 AM - 10:45 AM Heat 1
11:00 AM - 11:45 AM Heat 2
12:00 PM - 12:45 PM Heat 3
1:00 PM - 1:45 PM Heat 4
2:00 PM - 2:45 PM Heat 5
3:00 PM - 3:45 PM Heat 6
4:00 PM - ??? Additional fun runs may be available at the end of the day, if weather conditions are favorable and enough drivers are interested.
Drivers will be divided into three groups, and will rotate beween three stations as follows:
Station 1: Autocross course - Approx. 30 second course. Drivers will get 8-10 runs in each of 2 heats (16-20 runs total).
Station 2: Skidpad & tech center - G-meters, corner-weight scales, alignment tools, pressure gauges, and pyrometers available to measure and evaluate car setup. Drivers may choose to use part of this time for break/lunch.
Station 3: Work Assignment - one group will be working on course and in the tech center.
As of 05/07, we only had 19 drivers registered, so we still have space. MOWOG 2 is the following day, so this is a great way to get you and your car ready!

Question: I am a MAC member. I would love to do this test 'n tune. I will, however, be in Chicago this weekend so i obviously won't be able to be there. My co-driver for almost all MAC events will be in town though. He is not a MAC member (should be, but isn't). Can he bring my car to the test 'n tune even though he is not a member. The car is mine, and i am a MAC member, but i understand that rules are rules, so if this won't work, i'll understand. Just let me know whats up! Thanks.

Why not just pay the 20 bucks and be a member and lay to rest any questions.
It only takes 4 events to get it back.

You'll have to ask him that question. I agree, that would make things a lot easier and we wouldn't have this issue. In the past he hasn't because he has only done 1 event previous to this year. He plans on doing quite a few this year and i told him to become a member, but i think it was one of those things that went in one ear and out the other. I'll get on him again about it.

The Test 'N Tune is a members-only event. Anyone who isn't a member will be able to join at the event. :)
Note: MOWOG 2 is the following day, and is open to anyone who registers before the event fills up (about 20 spots remaining, last time I checked).

What if a fellow wanted to show up just to weigh his car and maybe check his alignment, but he didn't feel like running because he corded his race tires and didn't care to do any testing or tuning on his street tires? Would this fellow still have to pay the $50 entry fee?

If the fellow signs up for a work assignment, we might let him weigh the car.;)

Could that be extended to others (specifically, me)? I would be more than happy to work an assignment for it...

For you, Alex, we will let you in for only $40.

If you sign up for one of the early assignments, we can work something out. Once the volunteer assignments are full, the offer goes away. ;)

since turnout is light, can we do this? I may want to drive rob's '14, and have him drive mine, so we can see what each others car is doing and get some addl feedback from another '14 pilot about set up... Of course we'd both be paying the entry fee 2x. Or can we just each sign up once and just take a drive or 2 in the other guys car grattis...

David (and everyone else),
No reason to sign up twice. During your heats, you can drive any car(s) you want.

Still only 25 drivers signed up for this event.:?
It sounds like we're going to have excellent weather Saturday. You'll get tons of seat time, and have the opportunity to check out your car's setup. Plus, we're allowing unrestricted car-swapping & ride-alongs. What's not to like?
We need approx. 40 drivers to break even, so sign up ASAP, if you want MAC to offer such events in the future.
Thansk!

My car doesn't need any testing or tuning... There's not much tuning I could do! :)

Do you know exactly what tire pressures you should be running for optimum traction?
...and as Phil said, the most important tuning is the driver. ;)
I may sign up last minute (Friday), need to see if the car will be back together in time. Since it is pre-pay, don't want to sign up unless I know.

Time 11:40pm May 17th
Registration Deadline 18-May-2005 Entries must be received prior to the registration deadline.
What the heck it's not the 18th yet and it shows registration is closed :x . I wanted to sign up I'm finalizing the babysitters. Sure is hard to find ones for the whole day. So far have half the day covered just waiting on the second half even if I had to leave early at this point I wanted to sign up to do the course setup and run/work as much as I could. My second half of the day babysitter was likely todo it.

I'm there too. I'm hoping to have new hoops by then...might be a good time to scrub them in before sunday's rain :x
What's the cost to become a MAC member?

Well, the single stage brake booster is in, just need to bleed the brakes... However, I just got my exhaust manifold back and it looks as though my EGT sensor does not have a 1/8NPT thread on it, contrary to everything I have read from Autometer! It doesn't fit as it should and I confirmed it is indeed tapped correctly! If anyone has an idea, see the other thread I am starting.
