To whoever is working on publishing the results:
If you need some assistance in getting it done quickly, I would be more than happy to help. Just let me know how.
:zzz
Thanks for the offer, Salah. At this point. a small group of us is working feverishly to get the MOWOG 6 results in the mail, hopefully by Wednesday. I will post on this board when they are mailed.

Drew,
You used the word "mailed". Does this mean that the results will no longer be posted on the website, or did you mean "posted"?

hey, Yes they are going to be mailed! They are still going to be posted. I thought that i would be able to get the updated year end results to Drew in one day, but i failed, had a project due and actually didn't sleep for almost 2 days. I only have 30 min. left of work to do to finish updating and forgot the file at home and won't return till tonight, then drew will get them... not sure if they are going to include the year to date in the mailing... I am working on getting a newsletter together that will go out shortly after the last mowog as sorta a year end issue, and that may just as well have the last year to date posting.

To All:
The results for MOWOG6 will be mailed tonite, Jerry, Drew and myself are working on the mailing. It is our intention to mail out results to all particpants within 2 weeks of all events from now on. After we see how it goes this time we may mail out results for previous events, however since we didn't require addresses before, not everyone would receive them.

I didn't know about the plan to mail the results. Thanks for the info. For me, though, posting is better than mailing because it can be much more timely and the on-line version is readily available. So if time is an issue (isn't it always), then I'd vote to post them first, then mail them.

Save the club some money and just post the results on the site. No need to snail mail.

I disagree that we do not need to mail results.

Relax everyone.
First, we are in the process of mailing results out, as Paul said in his posting.
Second, now that the results are in a format for distribution, I'll be sending them to Jon to post on the website.
Whether or not to mail the results or post them on the website is not a question of convenience, economics or efficiency. Met Council rules require event results to be mailed out. That requirement used to be met by the inclusion of results in the Right Line. The Right Line has fallen by the boards this year for whatever reasons; but it will be resurrected. See Jeremy's post. In any case, I volunteered at the last club meeting to get together a committee of Mike, Jerry, Paul and myself to get something moving on this. The first step was to get the MOWOG 6 results mailed. And they should be in the mail tomorrow. Most everyone should have them prior to MOWOG 7.
Now that we have some experience, I expect we'll have the results for MOWOG 7 mailed and posted on the website more expeditiously.
Further, to remedy past oversights, we are going to prepare and mail out the results for MOWOGs 1 through 5. Many people may not care at this point, but everyone is entitled to them, so we're going to fulfill MAC's responsibility to the extent we have addresses.
As Jeremy noted in his posting, he is updating a MOWOG Series summary, which will probably be in the Right Line as well as on the website.
Thanks for everyone's patience. In the future, the task of getting out results will be divided up so it's not such a burden on one or two people. Expect to see them quicker.

The MOWOG 6 results are now printed, assembled and ready for mailing the morning (Wednesday). They've also been sent to Jon for posting on the website.

I didn't know about the by-law requiring mailing. Thanks for the information. Sometime in the future you may want to consider amending this to allow members to opt out of snail mail in favor of web posting or e-mail as was done with the Right Line.

It's not a MAC By-Law, it's in the MCAS rules. Since not everyone has email it's a bit difficult to overturn this, although if someone would like to propose a solution, it can certainly be entertained at the MCAS rules meeting in December.

Ever since we went to this new WWW service I have had lots of difficulty.
It has been explained to me it is my software.
I am attempting to find software that works with this WWW service.
My PC won't send at all...
My Mac will, but only sometimes...
Plus, I hate running a PC- compare it to to OS X .... (not a stab at Windows, but to really say WOW about OS X)

So Jon you like the commercialized version of FreeBSD that
the Apple OS X is based on?
