Ok, you guys make it so easy to ask a question and get an answer, I can save time by not spending alot of time looking a the rules in detail, thanks in advance.
Air cooled bug, gutted interior, punched out motor but carbs. Upgraded brakes (disc on front), lots of suspension stuff. Dot R rubber and streetable. If I bring this old runner out of storage help me with the class. Sounds like the slowest Mod group. I'd like to give the water cooled boxer a rest next year.

the gutted interior makes a difference- next question is weight- Dmod minimum weight is 1000 lbs, not including driver, engine under 2000cc, Emod minimum weight is 1500 lbs, not including driver, engine over 2000cc. If you wanted to add an interior, street mod might be interesting, with up to 4.0L of naturally asperated pushrod engine allowed, minimun weight for rwd of 2200.

Thanks Dave, we're working on it. Being a full bodied car I'm sure we will be over the 1000 lbs. D Modified looks good and there is some competition in the ranks.

You should be in a prepared class. But have to dig into rules deeper to figger out which one.
The rules are online at; http://www.met-council.org/rules.html

Dwight, I just reviewed the rules during my coffee break, FSP looks like a winner. I thought the Mod class was the only one allowing for a gutted interior, but Prepared is allowing.
I'd start here and leave FM for a backup.

Withdraw previous comments, I meant F Prepared not street prepared.

OK, another coffee break and more rules review. I think I have it right with saying the old bug will run in EP with the MGB. Tough company, but might be worth a stab at it.
If Dwight doesn't protest, that's the class.

There are only two axctive drivers in DP (Steve H & Me when the Sprite is done) so we'll be bumped to EP too, should be lots of fun.
We might end up with 5-6 cars in it. I won't protest either...

Prepared is growing! Now we just need a few more overweight, overpowered pony cars.

That was random. Its from a book.
Why would I protest?
Having a protected class ain't no fun.
If the rules are violated, then protest.
But to protest competition?
The fun is in competition!
If I don't trophy every time, then it's up to me to prepare my car to the maximim level, or to learn how to drive.
Any teachers out there?
Sides, Brian will come along and beat me 4 out of 6 times...............
