I'd like to find out what class my 1997 Stratus 2.4 auto fits into...
so far the list goes as follows:
1.5 inch Eibach springs
bored throttle body
2.0 DOHC intake swap
24# injectors (over the stock 19#)
side exit exhaust (cherry bomb replacing the stock resonator, and then side-exit in front of the rear passenger tire)
intake tube and filter
front and rear strut bars
that's basically what I'd prefer to run in autocross this season, and would like to find what class I'd fit into and what other things I'd need to do to comply to class rules, or modify within the class...I'm not worried about it being competitive or not being this is my first year, so if I have to move up a class because of a certain thing that was modded on the car then so be it...thanks ahead of time, and I hope to see you guys at some events this year...

Assuming you haven't gutted the interior, you can run the car in D Street Prepared. Since the Status isn't specifically listed in Street Prepared, it would fit into CSP or DSP, based on the catch-all rules. Of those two options, The car is far more appropriate for DSP. You may wish to print out a copy of this message and keep it in your glovebox, in case someone asks about classing. If you decide to make additional modifications, please check in to confirm you didn't move yourself into a different class.

I agree, as long as those strut bars are not triangulated. SCCA Solo rules for Street Prepared:
===========
15.2.C. Strut bars are permitted with all types of suspension. Strut bars
may be mounted only transversely across the car from upper right
to upper left suspension mounting point and from lower right to
lower left suspension mounting point. No other configuration is
permitted. Additional holes may be drilled for mounting bolts.
Only bolt-on attachment is permitted.
===========
BTW, SCCA has eliminated the term "Solo I" and moved that type of activity to Club Racing and given it a new name. The SCCA official term for what we do, autocross, is now simply "Solo". If you were to write "Solo II", "Solo 2" or "Solo2", we would all still know what you meant.
The "2005 Solo Rules" book has not completely caught up with this change, so there are several references in it to the previous naming convention, which after all, had been in place for decades.
This is relevant to Met Council events since the Metropolitan Council of Sports Car Clubs rules refer to the SCCA rules.

a few quick questions...under the street touring category, you are not allowed to modify the throttle body or intake manifold at all?
under the street prepared and street modified are you allowed to modify the stock throttle body (ie, over-bore) and are you allowed to swap in an intake from a completely different vehicle? in one section it says you must retain parts only within your vehicle model/years available, and then another section says ANY intake may be utilized...
basically I'd be looking at Street Touring (if allowed to modify the intake), and Street Modified (again, if allowed to swap in an intake from another vehicle)...Street Prepared is a good backup plan if I don't quite get the car as far along performance and handling wise as I'd like to...

In street touring you cannot touch the throttle body nor intake manifold. SM's throttle body and intake manifold are unrestricted, and I don't know about SP.

Your car is not legal for Street Touring. Intakes are unrestricted in Street Prepared, so you can modify/replace with factory or aftermarket parts. For Street Modified, you could put ANY Dodge/Chrysler engine you wanted to in the engine compartment.
The "progression" of classes is as follows:
Stock, Street Touring, Street Prepared, Street Modified, Prepared, Modified
You would want to enter the car in the least advanced classs it fits in, which appears to be Street Prepared.
