I think it was missed when we switched over... I don't know the dates.

this sunday the 20th is the last "official" race.
All us northerners(Blainetrack) are running in Burnsville(savage?) this sunday
at 11:00.
Prokart north will be close as of Feb.28th.outta business!
The cause is the building rent go too high.

Yowza.

I'm going to be out of town this sunday, so I guess my spot will be open. If there is a sub who wants it, it's up for grabs.

I'm in the southern league.

That sucks that prokart blaine has to shut down so soon after remodeling their track. Oh well, at least I got to race it once, albeit with my coworkers, who didn't put up much, if any of a fight.

Hey esper, is that sub spot still open? My little bro would like to give it a shot if it's still available. I promise he will do his best to make the Southern League proud...I don't have enough money to bribe him to run sabotage. :)

How little? What we (maybe that should read "I") don't need is another one of those "lightweights" putting the Clydesdales back another spot... ;) How did we loose the "Nikki/Clydesdale" fight?!

"little" as in nine years younger. I don't know what he weighs...he's thinner than me, but also a bit taller. Not a featherweight, anyway...

yeah, i'm still not showing up. I'm going to be in chicago, taking my car on its second ever road trip. It's better than taking my girlfriends 1977 Mini Cooper. That would be a nightmare for that long of a trip for me.

But anyways, yes, feel free to take the spot.

Cool! Consider the spot taken. :)

Your gf drives a '77 Mini in the winter? Cool old cars like that deserve protection from salt. Buy her an old Impreza L or an A2 Golf! Then she can enjoy the Mini for more than two years...

My friend in highschool bought this really cherry '67 Toyota. This was the early 90's, for those of you who don't know my age. So this car had been babied and loved for 25 years. I begged him not to do it, but he kept driving it. He washed it every weekend and generally took really good care of it. It still was a rust bucket within two years. :(

Well, one of the biggest problems thus far has been figuring out how to rustproof the thing without basically stripping and repainting the entire car. My girlfriend likes her car, but is not nearly enough of an enthusiasts to gothough with anything so extreme, nor does she have that kind of money, since she's putting herself through grad school right now.

I mean, there has to be a somewhat economical way to do this I'm sure, it's just that we haven't found it. Any suggestions would be awesome. As it is, she drives it less than 5 times a week, for short distances, and takes the bus to and from work, but she doesn't have a garage, but keeps the car covered in her backyard. Any longevity suggestions would be welcome, as of course it would be me quarterbacking the preservation of this car.

It does have one advantage tho, its not really a 77, its a 95. It's just registered as that for import purposes. here is a pic of the existing rust that came on the car when she got it:

here it is just sitting looking cutesy:

Actually, that's my point. There isn't. Wash it all you want. "Rustproof" it with whatever snake oil you can find. You just can't have any car as a daily-driver in MN without eventually hurting it. You can put it into remission, but it'll never really go away. Cars newer than about '85 are a little better because most companies were galvanizing the metal, but it still happens.

So, we're WAY off topic here! But send me an IM and explain the "not a '77 but a '95" thing. Did that come from Europe? Sure is cool. :))
