I'll be out for my 2nd autocross on Sunday at Midway. What recommendations do you have about whether I should run in my regular class, CST, or sticking with SI, like I did my first time out. Any advantage/disadvantage to either?
Thanks for any comments!

Go SI. There is no advantage to the regular class except season points, and it is too late in the season for you to qualify for season awards anyway.

If you're planning on running your MR next year,
start running in cst (I presume you are on stock tires still)
that way you can see, compare, and talk to the folks you should be competing against
in the future. Its still just for fun and you get some actual times posted
in the results.

I would recommend CST as well.
SI is meant for very casual autocrossers who don't want their lap times published. It is not intended for those who want to participate regularly.

Yeah... sorry, should have said CST. I'm still on street tires.
We had a Chevy Cyclone at Mowog !V. I hope I didn't err putting it into CP.
Anybody have an answer?

without going too deep,CP was a good choice for the Cyclone in my opinion.
that trucks engine was seriously boosted!
too bad we didn't have enough straight to see it rip!
the full length of the old canterbury lot would've been fun.
also, the cyclone and typhoon were sold by GMC

Spinne,
It was good to see you back out with the Spyder! And in CST no less! Welcome to the addiction.:hoho

Thanks for all the help guys... had lots of fun, didn't push it quite as hard as I should have but I was just getting a feel for the car. Glad I ran CST... came in 5th out of 5 but at least I can see how I do.
I'll be back again in two weeks, too bad that'll be it for the year. Next year I should be back for the season, maybe even with some better street tires and an alignment.
My ongoing big ordeal is whether to stick with the MR2 and drive a P.O.S. for the winter ('89 Tercel with lots-o-rust) or get something I can drive year round (e.g. WRX). For now I'll stick with the mister-two, that car is just too much fun.
Had fun watching that Cyclone!! definetly not the best course for it, but still blew me away :p
Cheers,
jeff :D
