And Both street tires get clobbered by the race tires:

Here is a summary:

Fastlap Type Tread %

39.17 Race 03/32 100.00 Hoosier
39.29 Race 03/32 099.69 Kuhmo Victoracer
39.30 Race 03/32 099.67 Kuhmo ECSTA
39.47 Race 04/32 099.24 Toyo RA-1

41.01 Street 09/32 100.00 BFG KD
41.40 Street 08/32 099.06 Falcon Azenis

Notes:
All tires were run under similar conditions on a STS-ready Neon ACR by two national level autocrossers.
The Street tires would have done better if shaved, but still would not come anywhere near the race rubber.
According to Tirerack, the Michelin MXX3(99.49) and the Pirelli P-Zero Assimetrico(98.92) come within striking distance of the mighty KD. This means that the Azenis is not the best, but it is in the top 3 or 4 street tires out there.

How do they compare in price though?

Per the GRM article, 205/50R15:
Falken Azenis: $ 76
BFG KD: $ 149
Hoosier A3S03: $ 170
Kumho Victoracer: $ 130
Kumho ECSTA: $ 58
Toyo Proxes RA-1: $135

I guess how fast you want to go depends on how much you want to spend. BTW, the Azenis comes in a 14" while the BFG smallest is a 15". If I stay in stock or go to STS, I'll go with the Azenis (most bang for the buck) to relpace my Potenza RE71's.

I've been running on 14" Azenis all season and am still very pleased with them. The fact that they're even in the same league as the BFG's for half the money says a lot for them. (Please don't start another tire life/mounting costs thread) BFG seems serious about being a player in the Street Touring game. I wonder if they'll come out with some smaller diameter sizes?
