Some more MOWOG 5 pictures for everyone. Photos are from Run Group 1 and 2a, wasn't able to take any others due to working and driving. No fancy cropping or renaming this time either, just the photos. Apologies if you were in those groups and I missed your car, some of them just didn't want their pictures taken (Phil, your new Lotus was especially uncooperative).

Enjoy.

Edit: Flickr is acting weird at the moment. Refreshing a time or two seems to bring up the picture if you're having issues with them showing up.

I had a lot of problems with phil's car too. Thanks for the pics! I think it's a combination of the shininess + the darker color + the harsh noon sun == autofocus confusion.

Willie uploaded his images big. In Flickr you should see a "View all sizes" button near the image somewhere, find the original - it's 5184 x 3456 - should be more than big enough for your desktop. It's in the actions drop down if you're using their new photo page, but a normal button usually in the top left otherwise.

Cool. Didn't notice the "Original" size there, I've never used Flickr. Thanks again, both of you.

Unfortunately, I couldn't really say. Panning shots can be pretty deceptive with speed. I can say it was taken on the straight leading into the carousel if that helps at all.

Jody, you can measure and calculate your speed in this photo.

Go to the large size at
http://www.flickr.com/photos/lowbar811/4830666587/sizes/o/in/set-72157624462292255/

To get the scale, measure something on your car. The front wheel is sharp. Measure the rim on the picture from top to bottom to take the car angle out of the equation. Now measure the same thing on your real car in the garage. This gives you a working scale of the picture on your printout or screen.

Using this scale, measure how far one of the cones is blurred. The camera data shows that this picture was taken at 1/50 of a second. How far did the cone move (in the frame-of-reference of your car) in 1/50 second? Do the math to convert that to MPH and you should be pretty close.
