A few comments:

Matt Beenen - I moved you from Novice to B Stock. You're no longer eligible for Novice Class, since you trophied at MOWOG 4. Please confirm B Stock is the correct class for your car.

Brandon Ranvek - congrats on another top Pax. Pat better up his game, if he plans to retain the rights to #1 for 2011. ;)

Jonathan Grothe - congrats on what I believe is your first FTD. 8)

Charles Kim - congrats on being the fastest fendered car. Way to pull a super-fast run out of your nether regions!

Pat Washburn & Chris DeLay - As a one-time favor, I manually calculated the Pro Class results to include different Pax factors for your different morning and afternoon cars. As luck would have it, this didn't change the finish order from Pro Class. In the future, I suggest we not allow drivers in Paxed classes to change to a car with a different Pax factor during the event. None of our software supports multiple Pax factors for a competitor and the potential exists for competitors to use such changes to their advantage based on changing weather/course conditions.

The competition in Street Tire Index was amazingly close. Less than 1 second separated the top 10 drivers.

I'm an idiot. I could have won BSP or STU outright, or finished 3rd in Pro. Instead, I classed the Evo in Street Tire Index and finished 4th. 3658

Wow, only .211 separating the first five competitors in STS. Nice work Dustin.

I was under the impression that the top three times in novice get kicked upstairs. I could be wrong, but I swear I heard that over the PA today. I also thought that Matt got second in Novice today. I could be wrong though...

Who else got bumped?

Not me, that's for sure.

Anyone who trophies in Novice Class is banished for life. The top 10% receive trophies.

Matt was incorrectly classed in Novice for MOWOG 5, so I re-classed him.

We were told 1st place was bumped at the Novice school; I guess I should have read the rules more carefully. BSP is my correct class, thanks.

We'll have to work on that car reliability too. Great drive Brandon, nice job!!! I wish I could have given you a better run in the Evo, but I couldn't adapt fast enough to an additional 1,300 pounds and like....50 times the horsepower. Got Honda muscle memory I guess. LOL Thanks to Mikey for letting me back behind the wheel. A few more runs would have been nice.

Big thanks to Phile, Yakich, Alan and others who physically stopped me to point out where I was hemorrhaging time. I didn't have my favorite co-driver to show me the clean line. Jocelin would have rocked it today. She's a precision machine at Midway events.

Final In the future, I suggest we not allow dirvers in Paxed classes to change to a car with a different Pax factor during the event.

Too bad about the LL Civic. Steve, perhaps in extraordinary cases such as rod failure it would be okay. No abuse should be allowed, of course, but a little judgement can avoid this. If necessary how about allowing them to use the higher of the PAX's if a person has to change cars? That way you don't have a special split calc and a person can continue on if a car can be found.

Sounds like a fun event , sorry to have missed it.

Assuming someone's making a change for legitimate reasons, I wouldn't have a problem with drivers being required to use the higher Pax factor. It's the PITA of manually calculating all the results I want to make sure we avoid.

I agree completly. The highest index of all the cars you drive at the event should prevail.

And thanks to 914 Dave for finally hitting me over the head with the obvious place I was hemorrhaging time and ignoring it.

I followed up my best ever PAX at MOWOG 4 (17th) with a 4th this weekend, on top of having the 13th fastest raw time of the day. Laying down a 26.2 out of the gate and then a 25.9 (with cones after the finish :() I was just trying to beat myself all day, but couldn't quite get back into the 25s. Here's to hoping the momentum continues at Milwaukee!

...with a 4th this weekend... Hey, that should have been my spot! :p

Nice driving - especially considering Midway courses aren't exactly a great match for 2.0L WRX gearing.

Street Tire Index is not an easy class. It is populated by many skilled drivers.

I'm stubbornly soldiering on in DM for the rest of the season, but will probably throw myself into the T-class maelstrom next year. My first event with the new car would have placed me near the bottom. Mowog 5 would have shown some improvement: I'd have been ninth of 24, between Matt Dahlman and Rich Firkins.

My biggest disappointment of the event is that I didn't hit any cones other than one in the carrousel. I had intended to hit several as part of learning the car, but continually failed to do so. Good news for the course workers, but not much good for my learning curve.

Chippy569

^^^ that means the car is narrower than you think, which is still learning. :)

Yup, but as my late father used to say, "a miss is a mile". Point being that I can't tell how much I am missing them by. I need to get in and strike some of them. T&T course workers, warm up your sneakers.

Haha thanks, I wasn't expecting it to last considering I didn't shave off any time in the afternoon. Believe me, my jaw dropped when I ran the time I did.

As Chippy said, maybe a little directed camera work. A couple years ago, Neal commented that my slaloms were lopsided. I was rangefinding fine on the driver's side, but consistently off on the passenger side. So we mounted a camera on the side and got a better feel for how much closer I needed to be. It is easier on your paint, too. I think Bienert and I have some video of last year's Cen-Divs where I drove STS. He was 1-3 inches off the cones and I was driving as if it were S2000-sized...

Question: With Matt added to BSP, the class is now at three entrants. Should BSP be still be shown as bumped to ASP in the results?

I don't think it really makes a difference as far as standings, or trophies go. It's just my OCD getting the best of me - sorry.

Probably, but it doesn't affect trophies or Series points, so I may not bother.

I think we may have set a club record for least cones hit at an event. Even the fun runs were drama free, for the most part.

I think we may have set a club record for least cones hit at an event. Quite possibly true. Kind of a nice change of pace, after multiple consecutive DCTC cone-fests.

I'd bet that more cones were hit on the untimed portion of the course, both beginning and end, then on the timed portion!

Fewest overall, but Patrick and Jonathan were doing their part to bring up the average. ;)

I started munching cones on the fun runs, I know that. Both me and my co-driver only seemed to hit cones after the timing lights.

8 runs and I only hit 5 cones,
Not bad overall
Except they were all on the same run (and after the timing lights)

Thanks Pat, it was impressive how you managed to throw down a solid 25.4 after just a couple runs in the Evo! I know you are fairly familiar with that car but jeez! I kept watchin the clock in my side mirror expecting to see a mid 24. Anyway, I hope the civic is healed, tested, and ready to rock for Nationals! We need your representation.

Steve,

What's with all the DNS results at the end of the pages? There's like ~8 people listed whom I don't recall seeing at the event.

I will say, i had probably the closest to a perfect sunday i've had in a while!

Not only did i drive VERY WELL... (6th in pax feels GOOD!), but the event came together well, and i don't think i saw a single timing hickup!
a couple of complaints, but nothing that interrupted the event.

8 Runs, Fun runs, top 10 pax finish.... it was a good day :)

The car is a lot laggier than it used to be. Mikey doesn't have the header on it, and it definately has a different response curve. Just couldn't adapt quick enough....they were telling me I should have beenh on the gas sooner. I think I got a 25.1 with a silly cone, but still...you in the 24's! Rockin!!! The Honda is still very sick...more on that later
