Just wanted to post that the last 2 weekends I-94 has been CLOSED & WILL BE CLOSED this weekend also.
You may need to plan an alternate route and allow extra time to get to midway.

This is from MNDOT:
Two I-94 closures to delay Twin Cities traffic from late July 9 to early July 12

ROSEVILLE, Minn. – In an ongoing effort to alleviate congestion and improve safety, motorists will experience delays and detours this weekend during two closures on Interstate 94 in Minneapolis and St. Paul.

Eastbound I-94 will close at 10 p.m. Friday, July 9 between Hwy 280 and I-35E in

St. Paul. Motorists will be directed northbound on Hwy 280 to eastbound Hwy 36 and southbound I-35E in order to bypass the closure. Westbound I-94 will remain open.

Eastbound I-94 will reopen by 5 a.m. Monday, July 12.

Both directions of Interstate 94 between I-35W and I-394 also will close at 10 p.m. Friday, July 9. Crews will remove the deck of the LaSalle Avenue Bridge that spans I-94 south of downtown Minneapolis. The bridge itself closed to traffic Tuesday, July 6.
During the I-94 weekend closure motorists will detour using I-394, Hwy 100, I-494 and I-35W.

Both directions of I-94 between I-35W and I-394 will reopen by 5 a.m. Monday, July 12.
Posted detours for the closure of LaSalle Avenue will direct motorists and pedestrians to the Nicollet Avenue Bridge crossing I-94.

The eastbound I-94 closure in St. Paul will allow crews to resurface the roadway. Each direction will require two weekend closures. The scheduled dates for the remaining weekend closures include the following:

July 23-26: eastbound I-94 between I-35E and Hwy 280
July 30-August 2: westbound I-94 between Hwy 280 and I-35E
August 6-9: westbound I-94 between I-35E and Hwy 280

The ramp from southbound Hwy 280 to eastbound I-94 closed early on July 6 and will remain closed until 5 a.m. Monday, July 12 as crews complete concrete pavement repair, paving and guardrail removal and replacement. During the closure, motorists can follow a signed detour on University Avenue and Cretin/Vandalia Avenue and should expect delays.

Overnight lane closures on I-94 at LaSalle Avenue in Minneapolis will occur intermittently as needed until the project is completed in late September.
