Doug and Clint, where were you? Have you guys given up on MAC? Haven't seen you at the last two events. I was looking forward to showing ya the 97 Cobra I picked up last week. My brother and I are probably going to the next COM event. Maybe we will see you there.

Yes, that was me and thanks for the compliment.
Great pic of the Pikes Peak Mustang. Where did you get that.
I wouldn't imagine that you would see a lot of mustangs at that type

By the way Jeff, you have a great looking car. I really like the new MR-S. If I were to spend the money to get a brand new car, I'd have a tough time deciding between one of those or a new Mustang.
Also, You drove well for your first time out.

Matt,
I took that shot just above Glen Cove at about 11,700 ft at this years Pikes Peak Internation Hill Climb ( http://www.ppihc.com ). There were a total of 10 Super Stock entries this year, 4 Fords and 6 Chevys. Clint Vahsholtz, the driver of car 18, grabbed first place in that division at 11:53.0, a full 32 seconds faster than the next driver! The results are here: http://www.ppihc.com/2002automobileresults.htm
If you want to see the article we did on it, it is a huge picture (880kb), but if you look at the bottom left-hand corner of the pic, you can see what happened when the 49 car driven by Robert Nankivell took the corner WAY to tight, he had half of his car airborne just before this pic was taken: http://www.pbase.com/image/3331212/original What an awesome show it was!

Thanks, I tried hard and had fun, guess I just have to get used to so much happening so quickly! My shifting was off a bit and for the first couple runs I forgot that I had brakes, but I calmed down and recovered. Overall I am quite happy with my results. The car seemed to handle as expected, a little more understeer at times than I would have thought, but that is most likely my lack of experience. I was impressed watching the Mustangs/Corvette/etc... handle on that tight little course, musta been a challenge!

Yeah, I don't think Mustangs were designed for small courses like Henn Tech. Thats where cars like yours excel. I'm looking forward to running at the next Corvette Club event. With the course they use, I should be able to put some of that horsepower to use and not just burn my tires up like I did yesterday.

Hey, Matt!!
Sorry, decided to attend a few more family events this year. And yeah, I'm getting a little bored with the Hennepin courses. I did miss the last COM weekend AND the BMW day. Crap!! I plan on making the COM weekend Sept 7-8 if at all possible. Let me know which day(s) you'll be there.
So you actually ditched the Fox? What's up with that?! Good choice, though. It's just like Doug's, right? I'll check your website for photos.
Later,
Clint

Same as Doug's, but green and not a convertible. I do miss the LX, but this car is in a different class altogether.
As far as the COM event, I think Mark and I are going on Sat the 7th. Not sure yet. We'll let you know.
