ALMOST tripodding. I don't have enough front grip on those 225/60-16 front tires.



I need to find a solution for my burning/boiling PS fluid, it's getting pretty terrible. When the engine goes down to idle (braking, coasting in DD driving) the PS pressure will go to zero. (You might see this in the chicago boxes in the video!) But as soon as I tap the gas, the pump outputs enough pressure and the PS kicks back in. Meaning I fight the wheel really hard and then touch the gas and the wheel's resistance goes to zero. So I really need to find some form of cooling solution. Apparently the 2000-2003 police impalas had a PS cooler.... time to go scrapyard hunting.

My old prelude had the power steering cut out a lot in slaloms, and after enough reading i narrowed it down to cavitation. As far as physics go, this is the same as boiling, however in layman terms, it is caused by primarily by low pressure even though heat is a factor too.

The common solution with preludes was to re-shim the pressure relief in the PS pump, so the whole system would be pressurized more. The down side was that several people would blow out hoses or create leaks when they would try this on a 15 year old car.

Another thought, if the revs drop in the automatic during non-throttle sections, maybe D1 or D2 will help keep the revs up if you car has that.

The GTR was driven by brothers John and Adam Yaomann, and yes it took 2nd and 3rd place after PAX. Adam is the better driver. They have wealthy parents. I am jealous.

Indeed. Any chance they could have been at an Adventureland DMVR event last April? I remember There were a couple guys there in a black GT-R that were spectating.

Not sure. Where was it held? John's really tall and lanky, and Adam's a little shorter and more rotund and red-bearded.
