BMW of Minnetonka (aka Sears) is having their Grand Opening tomorrow, 5:30-8:00. Supposedly the largest indoor showroom in the WORLD.

My BMW (or is it Darryl's? John's? Parker's? I get so confused...) will be on display in the service bay, along side Darryl's new 2002. See you there!

Edited at Darryl's request. They're not my favorite dealership, but maybe they're better now.

Neal, on the other hand, can stop taking things so personally. How my comments had anything to do with the time Neal put into his car is anybody's guess. I never made any personal comments about anyone in this thread, just facts about actual experiences with various dealerships.

Thanks Alex for your comments. I just spent several long days working to get the car wrapped up in time, so I'm not sure I personally appreciate them at this moment. But thanks all the same.

I've only just started getting to know them, since I've only owned a BMW for a little over a year. Motorwerks treated me the way you say Sears treated you. Since they're MUCH closer for me, I even gave them several tries before giving up. <shrug>

Sears has supported Darryl and treated him well for several years. They say they want to support local enthusiasts more, and invited me to bring the car out. I'm very happy to be part of the event.

Thanks for posting this Neal…

BMW of Minnetonka is very supportive… They’ve done some work on my personal cars and I’ve sent many people to them for service including a few MAC people… Everyone I’ve sent had positive feedback…

I've always had good experiences at Sears and now Minnetonka. Just wish their parts counter was open longer hours. =]

I wish I could make it to the opening, have fun.

Personally having TONS of experience working with TCA (BMW of Minnetonka) in my line of work, those guys are GREAT. Sears as a team was a different situation. They are no longer linked to Sears Mercedes which would not be a company I would work with if I had a chance.

The guys there do a great job, they care more about fixing a used car up right for a customer than I have seen out of any other dealership I have ever worked with.

Say hi to Dave Nixon if you see him! Great guy.

Thanks Neal, Alex, Andre, Matt M., Michael V. and a few others for showing up tonight... WOW, I'd guess over one thousand people were at the new BMW of Minnetonka... I talked to a couple sales guys and they both said they sold a few cars tonight... For those of you that missed tonight you should stop in and just walk through the place... It is truly amazing... The shop has tile floor, they have coffee bars, home theater room, children’s play area and of course BMW’s… Worth the trip… If you stop by see Jim the service manager and Aaron in the parts department and tell them you hang with the MAC guy’s… Almost forgot, they have a very cool simulator… Let’s just say Neal won his FIRST jacket in 2010…

Cheers…

Never thought I'd go to a dealership for good beer and sushi!

The place was amazing really. I was blown away by how big it is.

The place is insane, I was like a kid in a candy store. I plan on going back if I ever have a need for a BMW...

That was pretty awesome. The size of the place was just staggering. Couldn't believe how many cool BMWs they had sitting there. I think I counted about 5-6 actual new BMWs in the place...all the rest on display from the front door to the service bay were customer cars. There's a really pretty mid-90s 540 that I just drooled on for a while.

OK, enough with the jacket stuff already! But the simulator is hella-sweet. I asked Aaron how much it cost to rent the thing for this event, and just about fell over when he said they bought it for the showroom. He says they're talking about having a casual "league night" or something for car guys to come out and play. He says they have all the tracks and a bunch of vehicles to play with.

I'm not sure which model it is...maybe the Scorpion GT? That thing made my iRacing setup feel so tiny...

Nice car, I'll have to go check it out. I have a '95 540 Sport 6-speed, 3203 produced.

That's the one. Though Mark, I wouldn't expect it to be at the dealership. AFAIK, all those cars were privately owned. The dealership invited customers with "special" cars to bring them in for display during the open house...
