Online Registration is now open for the 2010 Road Skills Teen Car Control Clinic, sponsored by Minnesota Autosports Club and the Paul Weidner Memorial. Road Skills is an intensive one day clinic, designed to teach young drivers the fundamentals of car control and equip them with the necessary skills to handle emergency situations and avoid accidents.


Trained instructors provide hands-on, in-car training that consists of a 4 hour classroom session, 4 hours of on-course driving exercises, and a reference manual for home study.

In-car exercises include:



Emergency braking techniques

Slalom course to demonstrate weight transfer of the vehicle

Car handling during wet road conditions using a skid pad

Sudden lane changes simulating accident avoidance

A final road course that combines elements from previous exercises

When: Saturday, May 22, 2010, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM


Where: Dakota County Technical College, Rosemount


Cost: $20 (includes lunch)

C'mon folks, I've heard lots of talk about: "I've got a neighbor/co-worker/cousin (fill in the blank) who has a son/daughter that this would be perfect for. One entry so far. Alex our awesome sales person just got the flyers a day or so ago, and I expect he is already getting them out to schools and clubs to spread the word. So. If you have a special someone in mind for the school, don't wait, get them signed up NOW!!!

What are the license requirements? Is it open to teens with a learner's permit?
