Registered, though I may be looking for a car to drive if the 944 isn't running and broken in by then

I see a few people who forgot to click the "pro index" drop down....
Matt Murphy?
Shane Donahue?
Larry Bereuter?
;)
Also...
Is Special Interest now Novice class?
Yes. I think the reason is to discourage people from staying in the class forever... after all, who wants to be a 2nd-year or 3rd-year "novice"? :D

SSM looks like a couple years ago! Lee and Dave (will the car be ready?) chasing those pesky Corvettes!

Ahh yes, gonna need to get that changed.
BTW, I have a co-drive spot open, car should be pretty competitive, though anyone much over 200lbs may have difficulty with the seats.

Pro Index is showing 11 already. That'll be at least 13 by the time Pat and Chris B sign up (hurry up guys). I also see the return of Brake Man, welcome back Chuck. Should be epic.

our big events cost a little more (Valley Fair and Canterbury) due to high site costs
But boy are they worth every penny...

Ah, ok. For some reason, I was thinking $25/event. That's what the LOLSCCA charges up here for non-SCCA members.

thx jay- I am excited to return, even if only part time.
I know that once one has a nickname, it's hard to change, but w/ the crappy ABS in the protege (or at least how this driver uses them), I want a new name! "Brakeman" should never miss that final corner by 20 ft because his car's ice mode kicks in. oh well, it'll work until something better comes along.
now i need to read up on these Pro rules and get my car ready.

I hope I have my car back together by then... might need a co-drive if the Chevelle isn't ready.

Did prices go up?
Nope - all entry fees stayed the same as they were in '09.
As Shane noted, we charge more for Valleyfair & Canterbury events, because the site rental costs are dramtically higher for those two venues.
I like the redistribution of classes: more Pro and less SI since renamed Novice.
Great success!

Ooh, I see the Higgins' signed up for STR in their Z4!
I'm not sure if either of you watch the forum, but if you do, have you done any work to the car?

I'm more interested in why Alan has the Elise in XP?
Did I miss something? Or is it because he doesn't have any competition in SS anymore since the Cayman got reclassed?

Somehow I'm guessing Alan's not chopping up his pretty Elise. =]

I guess Pops has some explaining to do when I see him tonight. Last I heard his tires were too wide by 10mm and I don't think he had any work done to the Z4.

so then is it because there is no other SS competition and XP is the only other spot the elise can go to?
doesn't that yellow elise run in a SP class?
Kevin bailed on SS because of me. I've been planning the move since early last year and last fall I posted on the Plans for 2010 thread regarding this. With a few mods I could have gone to ASP but I've decided to try XP. I won't divulge the changes but I will say I have a new trailer and a secret weapon...
Looking forward to the XP battle.

Tire width will not bump you out of stock class. Rim width changes or offset changes beyond .25 inches. will.

Pro on street tires that would be a treat. Still haven't decided what to do with the Mini it's outgunned in DS, so I have yet to order tires. Nic well he is just a poor college student so he is stuck with what Mom decides to do.

????????????
What makes you think its out gunned? Probably still the car to have in DS.
Its just not a ringer car anymore.
I think at nats it would win GS and be faster than DS at the same time. Hope your not getting rid of it.

I'm totally with Adam on this one - the MCS may well be the car to have in DS. While the ITR probably has the upper hand on sweeper-intensive courses, the MCS should clean up on slalom-intensive courses.

Mini S and Type R; two very different beasts that eat courses and tires at the same rate.

Totally up to you but that would be my plan. It's more fun than running in your own class.

Yes--It's up to you, but I would stay in "Vintage" if it were me. There will be entries in some other events, plus you will get First Place points for the MOWOG Series if you stay there. Bad choice would be to bounce around between classes and not qualify for either MOWOG or Met Council Series.
