Can anyone tell me anything about this event? My dad lives just a few miles from Garrison, so I'd like to try to make it to this somehow.

I'm wondering how to sign up, and how the event is run, if it's wheel to wheel or time trial style?

thanks,

Matt

I'm sure you saw it already, but just for reference, here's a link to a related thread:

Looks like Feb 27th/28th is done by the IIRA, and I was looking through the rules, it looks like they require a cage?

They don't specify it in the rules, but it also looks like wheel-to-wheel, no time trials type racing, can anyone confirm?

Actually the rules do talk about cages....it is door-2-door....if you compete in the rubber to ice stuff you need only a 4-point cage.
search for threads containing: "IIRA"

come out and spectate, come out and work a corner stations....

If you want to compete w/ a street car, Glacier Lakes Quattro Club does a long auto-x at Lake Cynthia

eh, forget that, if I'm going to freeze my ass off it's going to be as a competitor, but I don't have access to anything I'm willing to W2W or cage.

Anything like that going on this weekend?

Yes, on Sunday. I'll be going as a first timer. Just google Glacier Lakes Quattro Club to find info on the event.

Keep in mind that the GLQC Lake Cynthia event might be kinda nasty to some bumpers/valances given the thaw/rain/freeze we had recently.

We went last year - much fun. The snow was nice and fluffy.

I thought about that, but most lakes/ponds I have seen have been swept clean of snow from all the wind we've had. I don't foresee any large icy snowbanks.
