Here's your chance to drive the best parts of Brainerd International Raceway!

Suburban Corvettes of Minnesota is holding their annual Corvettes do Brainerd evebt May 21st-23rd. May 22nd (Saturday) is a "low-speed" day, open to all drivers. Low-speed is a relative term, as this is considerably faster than a typical autocross event. Expect to get 8 runs over over 1 minute.

No rollbars required for open cars & Snell 95 helmets are OK. No high speed driving license required for Saturday. The cost for the low-speed day is $95 without dinner or $120 with. For more info, visit Suburban's website:

I'm not 100% sure, but I think they do drag races & various social activities on Friday. Sunday is the high-speed day, which requires drivers to have more safety equipment & a proper license.

Here's a link with a bit more info:

p.s. One additional note - for those who want to make this a weekend adventure, Nord Stern Porsche Club is having an autocross at St. Cloud on Sunday the 23rd. You could drive up to Brainerd for the Saturday Corvette event, stay over night, and do the St.Cloud event on the way home. Sweet!:D

The Friday event is a practice day, leading into the competition weekend. I believe the invitation to Met Council drivers is for Saturday only. Do hit the Suburban website and call the appropriate people to get verification. The Saturday event should be a great time, as mentioned earlier you get to drive the funnest part of the course.

Also, I believe for the low speed event, you have to pre-register, so dont waste time!
