The Basso Presto Sportscar Club of southern Minnesota and northern Iowa will be sponsoring a little side competition based on the results of this year's MOWOG Series. We'll be awarding a trophy and polo shirt to the winner at the end of the season. It will be a singe marque competion with this year's featured marque being the Mazda Miata.
Here's how it will work:
Any and all Miata driver's are eligible to score points regardless of class or level of car preparation. Results will be based on MAC's published raw times modified for the standard 2 second cone penalties. PAX will not be used.
Points will be alotted as follows-
1st - 10pts
2nd - 8pts
3rd - 6pts
4th - 5pts
5th - 4pts
6th - 3pts
7th - 2pts
8th - 1pt
The race for the Cup will begin with MOWOG 1 this sunday. Drive low. Drive fast.

With a extra large neck opening for those muscles to hold up that big head :dancin:
My prediction is:
Adam A in first
Chris B close behind
You and Alex tied for third, unless Harry joins in...

PaulNot going to be that simple. Myautoevents shows 11 entries in Miatas for MOWOG 1, and I know of at least one other that isn't registered yet. Valleyfair already has 16 Miatas pre-registered. With Harry's CSP car and a couple in SM2, I don't think us C Stockers are going to have an easy time.
Oh, and I can beat Chris. :p

I am not going to make it to Mowog 1 due to a house project, so I probably won't win the cup (actually a shirt). Still, thanks for the vote of confidence Paul. Alex, if you want to co-drive a Ford Probe 4cyl auto, I'm sure Adam Quimby would co-drive with you. It now has Azenis!

Only with a stick, Alex. A miata is a different story...

Darryl,
No I didn't buy a Miata, does that mean I can't trash talk?
At least I'm not talkin about stick beatings...

No trash talkin' for me. I'm planning to skulk along under the radar, in that pretty red '03 Club Sport. :D

you guys forgettin' about Josh- seems he would have either won or come close on street tires with the puny 1.8L (granted there were less competitors).
i'm eager to have a go at it- i haven't yet had a chance or the kahunas to approach the cornering limit.

Chuck,
Adam – Seasoned veteran
Chris – Sleeper, never has a bad day
Josh – As smooth as they get
Myself – Clueless, just do it approach
Alex – young reflexes quick learner
Ed- SUPERCHARGED
Harry – CSP, hands down the winner if gets enough event in
Chuck – Hmmmm, Chuck is FAST
Who will win? No idea but it will be interesting.
Darryl
don't forget me :), i still hope to make it to at least 4 events this year!

Darryl- shows how little I know about my new car- it only has a 1.6! Well no wonder it feels so short of power for daily driving. On the course, I have to find a way to reduce power since I'm only wasting it to spin (which is unfortunatley addicting!).
Someone with some time should update the standings after the first event. Good job to Josh, Darryl, and Mother Nature for making my prediction come true, and more importantly showing us how much we can still improve.

Harry usually eats us by a second or two in midway!! what happened? coned? anyway this is fun (note to self, wake up early for Valleyfair!!)

Hmm. I'm not sure it's fair to add multiple drives together.
Perhaps only the fastest single run at a each event.
What do you think?
