I've had my stock MR-S cat back exhaust sitting around for a couple years now and am giving away to a needy owner. Anyone have an idea where I can get a box that would fit it? Anyone have an aftermarket exhaust box sitting around?

Thanks for any suggestions.

I've had good luck taking oversided things like that to Mailboxes, Etc. in the past. Although, I think they're call "The UPS Store" now.

They charge for packaging, but if the buyer is willing to pay for shipping you're covered.

By the way -- the Tercel is still running! I let it sit all winter, and it cranked right over in the spring. It needs a tune up, but it's still getting 38 MPG so I'm afraid to touch it. How's the MR2?

Glad to see the Tercel is still going, though it's only 11 years old! So, what class are you going to run the Tercel in this summer? :)

The old MR2 is doing pretty good, drove it all winter without issues even in some nasty snow. It doesn't like deep snow at all, but ice and slippery roads were a non-issue.

A few things have gone wrong, but nothing that's kept me from driving it. Something broke in the exhaust right near the manifold so it's been pretty loud for awhile now, just too lazy to put it up on stands and take a look. The clutch likes to loose "presure" on long drives and requires pumping to get it to disengage. I'm guessing that is a problem with the slave or master cylinder, but haven't looked into it as I only take it about 15 miles each way which doesn't cause and problems. Lastly it has been killing when returning to idle after the car is warm. Not sure if it's related to the bad clutch master/slave cylinder (causing the clutch to not fully disengage) or what. I know this happened to you a few times, what did you adjust if anything?

One of these days I'll free up some time and dig into the repair manual. Either way, the car is very fun to drive, made the winter much more interesting than either of my Tercels. Very happy I made the trade.

why put it in a box at all? Whenever we order exhaust from our suppliers it usually comes with a shipping label taped directly to the metal.

Yeah, I had that same problem with the idle ever since I fixed the head gasket.

Try replacing the... crap... whatzit called again? The Idle Air Controller? It's mounted on the intake, right near the rear hood latch. I replaced it with a used one and it didn't seem to help. Maybe a new one will be better?

Try the fuel filter, too.

Glad to hear it's been a (somewhat) decent car! I'm happy too -- more headroom and better MPG.
