It's a bit early, but here's the "official" thread for the SCCA CenDiv Championship event, scheduled for 08/01 & 08/02 in Milwaukee. Note: attending this event qualifies drivers for reduced registration rates at Solo Nationals in Lincoln.

Plan to arrive on Friday. I just reserved a two room suite at the Brookfield Suites Hotel (http://www.brookfieldsuiteshotel.com/), which is conveniently located right next to the Country Inn & Suites and Residence Inn. The rates were $40/night cheaper than the Country Inn or Residence Inn, and it has all the amenities like free breakfast, wireless Internet, etc.

MAC Driver List for CenDiv

so any possibility that any of you guys heading out there with trailers and such could find room for 4 extra wheels/tires for me?:D My car has been too far away from it's good set for far too long and I'd love to run at Milwaukee for my first time while I'm at it. Heck I'm actually quite a bit closer now than I was before! I'm sure I'd be able to arrange for a friend to drop them off for me if someone was willing to transport them. One way only of course, just couldn't fit them in my car the first time out here cause of all that other junk you need to, well y'know, move

anyhow, I'd definitely appreciate it! Let me know if you might be able to help me out!

I'm probably going to have to take you up on that :D thanks! Might be a helmet and magnetic numbers with those tires too if that's okay  So what all does a Milwaukee N00b need to know before he makes the trip out there? What are 2 day events like? I assume you take all of your runs in one heat each day? Am I going to have to register for SCCA if I want to go? How much is that going to cost, and which region should I chose now? so many questions...

I'll look into hotels tomorrow, hopefully it's not too late to get a good deal...

Going, registered, and lee is bringing his truck and camping trailer to stay on site.

Well as my co-driver didn't post the whole txt message I sent him is that I'll be bringing my tent trailer (2 of the largest beds available in a tent trailer and a glide out sitting area that sits 4) It has room for 5 people to sleep. 2 spots are taken but there's 3 left. All I looking for is some money to help out in gas to get it to Miller Park. I was thinking $20 per person. The good thing is we will at the sight so the Saturday Night Party will end up in a walk to the bed:)

Sorry no shower though

Does anyone want a tire warmer?

I'm thinking that if I go, I'm going just to have fun and hang out more than to compete.

Looking at the registration list, it kind of looks like a regular Milwaukee event.

Which means no SSM cars. Which means dragging the Honda all the way there doesn't appeal to me much...

PM me if interested in a tire warmer. If I can finish some stuff for work early and actually go, I can offer some combination of: cash, room, hauling / trunk space.

Edit: and don't worry, the way things are going, in a year or two I'm sure 'street' tires will be just as fast as Hoosiers anyway! 140 treadwear rating my A$$!!

Didn't you hear that the rating for these tires changed? 140 now refers to the number of autocross runs you can get from a set of tires....

So Murph you think Shane is cheap even if it's not on his dime;)

Nah, I don't think Shane is cheap, I mostly just like to give him as much **** as possible, he's good about returning the favor. =]

Just a reminder, they close registration 2 days ahead of time, so today is probably the last day to register online. SAVE YOURSELF TIME on Saturday morning, and most importantly, save yourself $5 bucks too. It's worth it!!

P.S. will someone be bringing the blue Helga wig? (a.k.a. "Heidi" wig?) Katie? ;)

I just registered and it didn't ask me any information pertaining to an SCCA member number. I am currently not a member but I figured I'd have to register if I wanted to do this event along with the street tire championship. Is that true?

I see they have a special rate for people under the age of 24 so I figure 45$ seems about fair but what region should I select? I live in the western michigan region so I guess that makes sense but since most of the events I'll go to will probably be in Milwaukee should I just register there?

sorta ot...

thanks though!

Don't know what time Janna and I will get in, but we'll call someone's cell to see if folks are still at Champp's.

Dinner at the Motorhome for us. Whether that is at Miller Park or the RV park is the question.

PS - I predict Colin will be pulling me aside and asking "Who is this Brandon guy?"

More than a little pressure on the new guy. No worries, Brandon will deliver the goods. :rockon Personally I got my arse kicked when I went to Milwaukee. :flame: Ouch, burney, no touch.

You guys are ruining Brandon's mojo! Too much pressure! Just pretend it's a MAC event and do what you've been doing.

Couldn't agree more! I enjoy the anxious/excited feeling that comes with a little pressure! It helps push me to improve and theres always room for improvement!

You'll do fine. Just make sure to arrive early, so you have plenty of time for course walks. And make sure to get at least one walk in with an experienced driver who's familiar with the Milwaukee site, to make sure you're reading the course correctly. Miller Park has some subtle elevation changes and layout indiosyncracies that can catch a first-timer by surprise.

-Steve

p.s. Also watch out for Atinc Akad - he's sometimes even faster than Colin.

Love Virgins...

The lot / surface has a few area's that have lower grip... We'll point all that out during a course walk... Find anyone that's been to Milwaukee and they can point all that out...

Most of all have fun, it just Autocross...

Yup, take advantage of the opportunities for socializing at the "Little Minnesota" paddock area, and definitely don't miss beer walks! :D
